This depends mostly on the device/OS manufacturers and not Proton. There's a reason Google only offers backups to their own service just like Apple with iCloud.

It's a free service that incurs costs on Proton's end. Pay for a higher tier if you want more storage. Then Proton can offer more storage for everybody.
One could argue about the steps between tiers, but asking for handouts is ridiculous, when you get a pretty generous free offer as is. Unlike other services, they don't sell your data and cannot finance free tiers any other way, but by subsidizing them with money from paying users. -

Let's hope that they will offer all existing SimpleLogin functionality as they're integrating the service directly into ProtonMail.

They're already improving existing products at a fairly slow pace, I hope they don't start building a completely new product. If they acquired another company like bitwarden with the team then maybe, but I really hope they focus on improving their existing products, which still lack a bunch of basic features offered by competing services.

Not sure there should be a high priority on this, since you can use multiple aliases with one account and this would allow having multiple accounts in one inbox circumventing the limit of free accounts towards paid options.
Although I do think that current handling of aliases is not helpful and there should be an option to merge proton accounts. -

Proton generally needs a customizable DNS service like NextDNS, but in the meantime, you can set a custom DNS in their Desktop client, but only there and only IPv4.

I think the "Experimental" option "Reverse Alias Replacement" in SimpleLogin takes care of that. Go to simplelogin and under settings scroll down a little to activate it.
You can try it out as well. It worked for me. -

They should add the modern iOS widget type, but until then you can already add their existing widget:
Open the widget view > Edit > Customize > Add ProtonVPN -

If people use a DNS with their own ISP and ProtonVPN they will just use Proton's DNS as soon as they use the VPN and that doesn't leak, since all traffic is protected.
It is a different story when you set a custom DNS server for ProtonVPN and the DNS traffic is forwarded to that custom DNS server. Here DoH or DoT would have to be used to avoid a leak, but tbh. even that DNS leak should just point to your VPN location (not an expert though, so not sure). -

Already possible through the web interface https://account.proton.me/login?product=generic&language=en. So you'd have to specify it as a functionality you'd want to be able to access in the calendar application.

There needs to be an option for families, where you share services and then you can select services that you want in that package with one "ultimate" version that includes everything.

I'm still not a fan of Proton spreading itself thin with all these different services, but if you must do it. Just make it easy to use it in a browser and support markdown, so we can use it on a desktop right away.

Please understand that cryptocurrency is not private at all. https://www.science.org/content/article/why-criminals-cant-hide-behind-bitcoin The article is a little older, but crypto has not fundamentally changed and it should definitely not be considered private, even with mixers/tumblers you risk having all your transactions traced back to you.
However, cryptocurrency can still be a valid payment method if other options are not accessible to somebody, like when they cannot open a bank account or acquire a credit card. -

It would generally be nice to have more modular plans with an unlimited version that includes all services and a proper family option, which is still modular for services and allows to manage a family like a team, again with one unlimited option that includes all services.
They state on the roadmap page (https://proton.me/blog/proton-drive-roadmap) that "The Windows app is further along in the development cycle." But they're already behind schedule it seems. I'm not sure, they get more precise with dates than this :/
It would be nice to get quarterly updates on their product roadmap for each service.
