I completely agree. It would be even better if notifications could also be filtered by label or folder, not just by sender. That way, I could get push notifications on my iPhone only for important categories—like client or project folders—while keeping everything else quiet.
I’d also love the option to reverse this logic—so I receive notifications for any email that isn’t labelled or sorted into a folder. For example, I don’t label personal emails from friends but do label newsletters. This would let me automatically get notified about unlabelled messages without constantly updating filters for new senders.
In an ideal scenario, ProtonMail could simply replicate the filter functionality specifically for notifications, giving users full control over what triggers an alert.
