How can we improve Proton Mail?

  3. CSS: Darken the seperator in the e-mail overview window (Carbon theme)

    Hi,

    I often use Stylish as an extension to modify small things on web pages that I visit often, to change the CSS slightly.

    One thing that really bothered me in the dark theme on the web version is that the line separator between e-mails is slightly too bright. The high contrast made the e-mail subjects less pleasant to read, so I decided the darken it a little bit, still providing it's utility as a separator whilst also letting the subjects of each e-mail conversation be better readible, causing less eye-strain.

  4. default

    A recent added web version requires the user to select an application - mail, calendar, drive, VPN, password vault. It would be nice to set a default application to bypass the selection process. I have link set to login to each of my accounts. Now, I have to select the mail app before proceeding.

  6. Add an administrative comment for each address defined for a given user

    When one is creating addresses for proton users, it would be nice to have a comment field for each such address to indicate the usage/reason for the address.

  8. Flag & Checkmark

    Can you add a Flag and Read Checkmark on emails? If you read an email but need to follow up, you can flag it. Once it's resolved you can click the flag to turn into a checkmark. Also add sorting by flagged emails.

  9. More detailed diagnostics for email domain configuration

    Proton has a nice tool for helping one configure DNS records to migrate an email domain to the Proton servers. However, the tool completely hides any details when something is not working correctly which makes it difficult to diagnose and resolve. If one uses the Refresh Status in the Domain names page, and some items show as being incorrect, one should be able to get the following details of what went wrong:
    1. The IP of the DNS server that was queried
    2. The response that was received
    3. The response that was expected

  10. Maintain Import-Export Tool Until New Export Tool Matches its Features

    If the previous Import-Export tool is being deprecated, please consider waiting until its current features are available in the new export tool before fully deprecating it. These include:

    • Exporting by date range (most important)
    • Exporting by label or folder (essential)
    • Exporting to eml (emails as individual files) mbox (one file for all emails in a folder or label) or similar formats (good to have)
    • Append new exports to a previous export's mbox file (good to have)
    • Importing emails (eml, mbox, or similar) exported from one proton account to another (good to have)

    Hello,

    I noticed that every time I add a new folder it is added at thecend, not ordered and in Android you cannot even arrange them.

    Could you please add possibikity to order the folders automatically as set once? Or at least add posibikity in Android,.

  12. Not unselect mails on inbox when i enter to view one of them

    When i select more mails to delete on inbox and i click on some mail to view if i need to delete it or not, when i return to my inbox all the mails i had selected are unselect now and i need to select it again.

    I think the selection must be mantain on time when i enter on some mail and return to my inbox.

  13. Add "Undo" button next to confirmation that a message was archived or deleted.

    Currently, when I archive or delete a message in the Proton Mail app, it confirms with a bottom ribbon that the message was processed. I would like that message to have an "Undo" button/link next to it, in case I archived/deleted it by mistake.

    This happens often with swipe gestures, and would be a quick/easy way to recover from it without having to go hunt it down in the Trash or All Mail.

  14. Go To Page

    When you search for an email address and the results show 732 pages, it would be nice to be able to go to a particular page rather than having to go to Page 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. If I want to go straight to the last page, I should be able to go there. If I want to go straight to page 545, I should be able to go there. Currently, I have to go one page after another which wastes time downloading, processing, appearing, moving, etc. Add a GO TO page feature.

  15. Enable a User-Selectable DARK Mode Option for Linux Desktop App

    For the life of me, I can't find any option to change the Proton Mail app colour mode in Linux. Oh sure, the app will change to dark mode if I change my entire KDE Plasma desktop to dark mode, but I want to be able to keep my default (light) desktop mode, but change the Proton app to dark mode.

  16. Does Spirit allow unaccompanied minor to travel?

    Is your kid flying alone with Spirit? Don’t freak out and opt for the Spirit Airlines Unaccompanied Minor service to ensure a safe and happy travel. The airline accepts unaccompanied minors on direct domestic flights, including Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.   18. Make 'Official' label visible

    Just moved from folders to labels.

    The Proton Official emails are labeled but there is no way to pull these up conveniently. Thus I've kept my Proton folder and associated filter

    Would be nice to have it optionally display in my label list / be searchable at the very least.

  20. Improve Self-Destruct

    Self-Destruct function is a great feature but is some space for improvements.

    1. Self destruct in 7 days (please allow us to change this default value according to preference (for example "Self destruct in 27 days", etc...). in other words, allow us to set a value for the default destruction period.

    2. Option to set a Global Self-Destruction for all incoming mails.

    3. Option to set Self-Destruction for particular folders which to overwrite the Global Self-Destruction setting.

    4. In contacts application add a field where we can set a Self-Destruct period for all mails received from that contact email address/addresses which to overwrite all…
