  1. Support older MacOS versions (e.g. Mojave 10.14.6)

    Is it possible to support older OS versions with a desktop app? Even a reduced feature set would be fine.

    My OS version is MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 for several reasons (stability, performance, etc.).

    I still like the convenience of a desktop app to handle my various email addresses for quick access (versus web interface).

  2. Hard wrap lines at custom widths

    When writing plain text email, I typically want (or sometimes need) to enforce a maximum line length/column width in my email to ensure it is easily readable. Most commonly this is 72-80 columns, but can occasionally vary to 100-120 columns. To my knowledge, Proton Mail doesn't provide a way to hard wrap lines in this manner. So I currently have to write these emails in a separate text editor which does hard wrap lines before copy-pasting it into Proton Mail.

    This is obviously quite tedious, and it would be a lot easier if Proton Mail included this feature. Perhaps there…

  3. Hide archived mails on label view

    Please add a feature to hide archived mails when I'm opening label view.

    I'm organizing emails with label by sender, but Proton Mail shows every emails when I'm opening label view.

    I need filter functionality.

  4. Tokenised, deterministic, LLM powered Inbox Triage

    I'm concerned that the privacy-first nature of proton will cause it to lag behind privacy-backward competitors and create relative friction in the UX which becomes a real burden.

    With a secure LLM operating on your own servers this doesn't have to be the case.

    You guys could implement a sufficiently constrained implementation with your in-house LLM which can pre-emptively offer very smart AI actions for those of us who don't mind it running on your servers (this is a compromise I'd be willing to make for the functionality, and lesser functionality could be offered to those who aren't).

    I'm imagining…

  6. mobile app smart folders

    Android (and iOS, also, I'm assuming) needs to be able to save searches to a smart folder. Other mobile apps do this (airmail for iOS, and em Client for android and Windows). It's doable, but from what I've been reading in here, it's not been implemented yet. Please add this functionality.

  7. In Proton Mail on iOS and iPadOS: Inbox sorting

    please consider an Inbox sorting feature that allows putting the oldest emails at the top; therefore, deleting or archiving the email results in opening the next email directly. It’s more intuitive to read emails from oldest to newest. As it stands now, the newest emails default to the top of the Inbox. In order to read the oldest emails from the bottom, it requires opening the email, reading it, deleting it, then clicking to open the next email, instead of opening the email directly.

  8. Integrate with ClickUp

    I use clickup for my tasks and time management and Proton is not integrated at all with this app. Not the email, not the Drive, nothing. I have to copy my files to another drive, assign them to my colleagues and then copy them back to Proton Drive and / or insert them in separate emails.
    I also have to use other emails that I own because I cannot send them via ClickUp.

  9. Spell check should NOT be a charged service but free.

    The spell-check feature should be included in a paid subscription, just as it is with other email providers. I should not be prompted to pay extra for a basic tool that services like Gmail offer for free. It feels unnecessary and disappointing.

    In addition, external spell-check tools such as Linguee or Grammarly no longer work in the background, which they normally do on my notebook. By disabling this simple functionality, you effectively force users to copy and paste important or lengthy emails into other apps, which is inefficient and frustrating.

  10. Have advertisments that you want to see auto delete after a set amount of time

    I like getting offers from Proton and some online suppliers advertisements but we should be able to flag certain things to go into the trash (not the archive) after a set amount of time. If its been sitting in my inbox for a long period of time (opened, or unopened) like a sale for August but its December then it's probably ok to move to trash and then burn bin it without labelling the company as SPAM. You can even say don't delete anything that comes from MEGABANK CORP, or Purchase receipts/key activation codes. I look at my current mail…

  11. Calendar reminders

    When I create a new appointment and want to set a reminder the default value is 60 minutes before, which is fine.
    Then you have the option to add another "custom" reminder which I usually use to add the alternative "1 Day before".

    But the default suggestions are:
    * at the time of the event
    * 10 minutes
    * 30 minutes
    * 1 hour
    * 1 week
    * CUSTOM

    which means that you always have to press custom and, edit the predefined value (which is 15),
    set the value to 1 instead, and then finally choose the option "Days" and…

  12. Nuance in 'Not Spam' / Move to Inbox Filter

    Contact Form 7 sends form submissions to me using my own email address as the sender, which Proton correctly flags as failing SPF checks. These messages go to my Junk folder - and that’s fine, because it prevents spoofed messages from landing in my inbox.

    However, every so often a genuine form submission ends up in Junk as well. When I move that message to my inbox in Proton Mail Desktop for Mac, the app automatically marks the sender as “not spam” at the same time. I would like to be able to move a single message out of Junk…

  14. Let LLM (proton scribe) summarize and pick out the most important emails from a single day

    We all get lots of emails, and sometimes it's easy to miss the most important emails. So the suggestion is that you should be able to write a prompt that the LLM can follow, and then it should be able to wade through all emails for a given time range, and then point out which emails are MUST READS based on the prompt or otherwise give some sane summary of the emails that were received during that period.

  15. Custom TLS Certificates for Custom Domains

    I think it is important that users are able to upload and use custom certificate for their custom domains on Proton.

    This would still involve using Let's Encrypt, the main difference is not using Proton's certificate for connections made for custom domains.

    This will require being able to securely and privately upload or generate a necessary private certificate, and then creating the let's encrypt entry.

  16. Add "select all messages" option in a keyword filtered research in inbox

    Hi

    It is not possible to select all the messages after a keyword filtered research in root inbox.

    For example:

    I cannot delete all the messages containing the text "linkedin" because i can only select messages page per page and not all of them at once.

    Do you understand ?

    Thank you.
    Regards

  17. horizontal calendar mode in mobile app

    In the mobile app (I am using IOS) I cannot turn my phone horizontal on to view the calendar in an extended aspect ratio. This makes the week view nearly impossible to use and limits you to the 3 day view on mobile. It works on the iPad app but not on the iPhone app so this seems to be a hugely overlooked feature.

  18. Scan paper based event invites into Proton Calendar

    In Proton calendar, a user should be able to scan any paper based event invitation (think wedding invite, graduation party notice, healthcare appointment, etc.) and automatically create a calendar event entry prepopulated with all the respective fields filled like title, time, location, etc.

  19. Option to hide the left sidebar when viewing an email on OSX

    On web, you can simply click a left arrow and it minimizes the sidebar. But you can't do this in the OSX desktop app. Would love increased focus in my experience when reading an individual email, side bar is distracting. Thanks

  20. sunrise and sunset times

    For people who start the day early (runners, photographers etc), it would be really useful to have the option to display sunrise/sunset times for your local area. Planning out hikes/runs etc would be so much easier.
