  2. Consolidated inbox

Allow to display or not, in both web interface and application, a unified inbox inspired by google's application, consolidating different email addresses, aliases and accounts (notably for family plan users or when using sevaral Proton account like for business and personal).

  3. Display folder name

Display the folder name in the reading/writing window. Right now you can only see the containing folder for a message if you have clicked to show only that folder's contents or if you click the "message details" option for the current message. It would be nice to see that info along with the message labels without needed to click something separately.

  4. Set subscriptions per subaccount addresses

I want to be able to receive most of the Email subscriptions but not have those on sub-accounts / member accounts as they don't want them. Currently only the main account owner can set subscriptions, and they may not know the other members of the account can't set that setting.

  5. Add SMIME signature information

It would be great to have an indication/information on a SMIME signature of a message instead of just seeing the "smime.p7s" file attached.

  6. Different inbox for each custom email address/alias

For each custom email address/alias, a specific inbox. Or at the very least, the ability to sort emails by which email alias/address they came from.

  7. Disable ability to click email links

When looking at attack vectors the possibility to click on a link is one of the important attack vectors for mail.
I would recommend a optional function where a user can turn off link clicking completely.

Like others suggested you could in addition provide a option where you still allow to copy a link with a button.

Another good suggestion I saw was to highlight the domain within a link

In combination with disabling content loading this will be very effective to mitigating most threats.

Finally you could make a function where users are give the option to scan…

  8. Rule progress indicator (mail X/X mails)

Show a bit more feedback when a rule is being (re)applied. Show which rule is currently processing and how far it is, ex: 'processing 123/888 mails' or a percentage.

  9. WKD for custom domains

It would be nice if Proton would support WKD for custom domains. They could guide the user through setting this up like with SPF, DKIM etc. This way even not so technical users could easily get the benefit of automatic PGP encryption from external services.

  10. Restore Label Location to Right and Shape

Please move labels in the Inbox or List views back to the right; they are and should be secondary to the subject. Users want to see Subjects first. NOT labels. Also please revert the rectangular labels back to the pill-shaped (rounded rectangle) labels. Rectangles take up a LOT of visual emphasis and distract from the more important aspects of the UI (subject, date, etc.), adding to cognitive strain. You've made a lot of UI changes recently and you should allow users to revert some of these extreme, random, and unnecessary changes.

  11. Allow us to search our existing aliases when sending an email out

Right now, if you have a huge amount of aliases for different reasons, you cannot search them to find the one you're after. I have one that I use for sending emails for my accounting side business, one for all house related things, one for all family related things, etc. Many many aliases/addresses. Please let us search for those!

  12. UI hover

Regarding the recent update on the Proton Mail web app. Please reduce the amount of "pop up" shadowing and size increase of hovered email items in the list views (inbox, etc). This needs to be a much more subtle hover effect.

  13. Preview Sender Email and Recipient Email

We currently can see the name of a sender in the Inbox view, but an enhanced view option would help me and I'm sure others. I'll elaborate... When a ProtonMail member has multiple email aliases set up, it would be beneficial for us to be able to see a preview line without opening an email which would show the email address the sender is sending from AND the email address the sender sent the email to (i.e. one of our aliases). This would help members be able to better identify possible spam/phishing attempts. I would imagine this could be set…

  14. auto archive

I want a function to auto-archive emails before a certain date. I have thousands of emails in the inbox, and it's impossible to move all that manually.

  15. Allow custom notification instead of forwarding

Allow a custom message to be sent to a unique address, triggered by a simple filter, not just forwarded. Some emails I want to know about are full of details that I don't need to know immediately, I would prefer to send to my phone's gateway address a simple message such as "Water leak detected" without streams of HTML in the SMS.

  16. Display SPF, DKIM and DMARC check results in email details

When viewing the original email, Gmail tells you whether the checks passed, for example:
    SPF: PASS
    DKIM: PASS
    DMARC: PASS
I use the most expensive Proton subscription and still don’t have this feature. It will be very helpful to see these checks in the details of the letter. Thanks for considering this idea.

  17. Track emails and attachments and links clicked

I use Trustifi to track emails I have sent. I see a map of where it was opened. Tracking is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing.

I enjoy seeing the IP address of the recipients location.

I liked seeing when the links or attachments were opened or downloaded.

I can see the time they opened the email. I know if they didn't open it. This has been very helpful. It prevented me from taking someone to court. they would have been blind-sided.

I can see if the recipient forwarded it to someone else.

I can make the email attachments open only once…

  18. Web app notifications on mobile [Android]

Right now, I'm only using the installed web app on my Tab S9 Ultra. Right now the Android app is too unoptimized to even consider using it as default and is only installed for notifications.

Unfortunately, the installed web app on Android doesn't seem to support notifications at all like on the desktop. I enabled every setting possible but I don't receive any notifications. Please consider adding working notifications for the mobile version of the web app.
In the installed mobile web app from Outlook this feature exists already.

  19. Make Proton Mail a general client for O365/M365, IMAP etc

Being able to switch to a single email/calendar client on Windows, macOS, Android and iOS would be a huge help for me making Proton my primary tool (and encourage me to switch the family).

at the moment having to check at least two mail clients on any of the platforms I use, so consolidating so I don't need to use Outlook (Windows and macOS), 9folders (android), mail/calendar/contacts (iOS) would be amazing

  20. SPAM BLOCKING by IP address range

In addition to the current spam filtering options, it would be nice to be able to completely BLOCK receiving email from specific IP ranges. (Reject the message at the SMTP level.

I have a list of about 60 /24's that only deliver spam to my inbox. Since many of them are controlled by spammers, they spew garbage with an endlessly rotating series of domains, so blocking by domain name is impossible. also, some of these sources operate out of several countries, so country based blocking would have too much collateral damage. (Also allow import and export of the blackslist vis…
