  1. Map HubSpot IMAP to Proton Mail

    Presently, there is no way to map HubSpot IMAP to Proton Mail. This would allow the user/account owner of HubSpot to send emails (and receive) from a client contact. You can do it with Googles, Microsoft 365 and Exchange. I do not exactly want to use these Darth Vaders....

  2. Hide FW and RE in subject line

    As in Gmail, I don't want to see the "FW:" and "RE:" prepended in my emails' subject lines. It would be great to have an option whereby I can choose to hide these.

  3. Option to hide account email in UI

    When logged into Proton usually the my account email is shown in various places (for example, in Mail, it is in the upper-right hand corner of the app under the email label)

    I would like an option to mask the account email. For example: johnwick@proton.me would be johxxxck@proton.me or johxxxxx@proton.me

    This would ensure that spying eyes can't know my full email address for my account.

    Alternatively, hiding the account email in the UI is also sufficient since all email identities come with a display name, and that display name could replace or be shown in replace of the email ID…

  4. Simplify thread view

    please simplify the view of the emails in a thread view or whatever where more emails can be seen at once. as it stands now, it is a bit hard to navigate in emails one has sent. one can make a branch view where when an email is no longer sent to the same people, it branches off. you could call it branch view. it would be the next big thing and would suit ar glasses too.

  5. Add print preview to desktop app

    Please add print preview to the desktop app.

    When printing from ProtonMail in a browser, you can see what the printout will look like, how many pages it will take, etc., and format accordingly. That's not possible in the desktop app.

  8. Option for product switcher to open local install

    Currently in Proton Mail, there is a button which provides access to other proton tools. These tools are in fact shortcuts to the Proton website related to each tool.
    The idea should be to evaluate if each tool has been installed localy and call these tools instead of going the the websites.

  9. Choose installation path for desktop app

    Hello,

    First of all, thank you for all the great work you are accomplishing at Proton.

    I really love the idea of using Proton via the desktop app, but one thing is a no-go for me :

    My disks are partitioned and my OS is isolated from my other installed applications.

    I don't want ProtonMail client to be installed in "%LocalAppData%\proton_mail" by default and wanna be able to choose another partition / disk to install it.

    I investigated a bit on the underlying installation system, which is Squirrel, and actually it seems to not allow installation path customization.

  10. Linux app (Ubuntu)

    Ich teste gerade die Proton / Windows Desktop App. diese funktioniert gut - danke! Mir fehlt jedoch eine solche Desktop App für Linux (Ubuntu)
    Ich würde die Beta, mit mehreren Rechnern unter Ubuntu und Tuxedo testen, sobald sie zur Verfügung steht.

    Ability to minimize Proton Mail Desktop app to the system tray (notification area) to keep it from taking up space on the taskbar.

  12. Prevent sending attachments (recommend to use shared link)

    I would like an option that blocks me from sending any email with an attachment.

    Rationale - when I send attachments with personal information I should be sending links to files stored in cloud drives etc rather than as an attachment to the email.

    This is to prevent data loss from third parties poor IT security related to the storage and management of emails. It also allows me to have more control over the access to the data.

    However it is easy to be lazy and not follow this best practice. The block, when enabled, would nudge / push me…

    ProtonMail for iOS should also act like a well integrated POP3/SMTP client that can send and receive email using Gmail, Outlook.com, and similar services. ProtonMail should look up the recipient’s PGP keys using reputable registries and provide the option of encryption and signing when sending to those parties. All mail should be stored in ProtonMail, and ProtonMail should send the delete call when retrieving via POP3. When onboarding new POP3/SMTP providers, ProtonMail should retrieve and delete from source all email and properly tag each email with a searchable and sortable tag identifying the source.   14. Resizable left pane

    Can we please have a sizeable left pane in the mail web and desktop app. It's very frustrating not being able to read long folder names.

    This would enhance the experience and make it a lot easier to manage emails. There is already a sizeable pane for the email message itself, so hopefully this could be incorporated quite easily.

    I would greatly appreciate this.

  17. Option to publish OPENPGPKEY records [RFC-7929]

    Protonmail could provide OPENPGPKEY DNS records as a means of distributing email encryption keys for their proton.me, protonmail.com, pm.me, and protonmail.ch addresses.

    For external addresses, something akin to https://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/jammy/man1/openpgpkey.1.html could be provided to generate DNS records through the user interface, which the user can then register with their DNS providers.

  20. Offline mode for mobile

    Please allow the app to perform offline operations (read any and all inbox email, delete, write and send emails), which will be queued for syncing whenever online. Same for calendar events.

    As it is now, any email sending/deleting, calendar event creation etc will FAIL if the phone happens to be disconnecting from wifi, changing networks or any of the thousands of possibilities of a mobile device moving around at all times.
