1. Allow bridge to bind to IP

   Allow Bridge to listen on 0.0.0.0 instead of localhost to allow all mail on the local lan to be routed through a single server - rather than running a copy of the bridge on each computer in my house. This is especially important if my other request to not download the entirety of my mailbox to each instance of Bridge is not implemented.

2. Calendar Auto-number recurring event titles (e.g., “Event 1, 2, 3…”)

   I’d like Proton Calendar to support auto-numbering (or title templating) for recurring events, so each occurrence can have a unique title without manually creating separate events.

   Problem

   Right now, recurring events keep the same title for every occurrence. For workflows like weekly meetups or lessons, this makes it hard to track progress at a glance.

   Example

   Create one recurring event with a base title like:

   Event {#}

   Then the generated occurrences would show:

   Event 1

   Event 2

   Event 3
   …and so on.

   Suggested implementation

   Add an optional toggle like “Auto-number occurrences” or allow placeholders in the title:

   {#} = occurrence number (starting at 1)

   (optional extras) {date}, {weekOfYear}, etc.

   Notes / edge cases

   If one occurrence is deleted/canceled, numbering should stay stable (or offer a “renumber future occurrences” option).

   Editing one instance should keep its custom title (do not overwrite).

   This feature is fully local/metadata-only and shouldn’t affect encryption/privacy.

   Why it matters

   This would save time and improve clarity for:
   weekly meetups, classes, therapy sessions
   sprint reviews, pay-period check-ins
   recurring tasks where sequence matters.

3. Keep deleted events in a folder for 30 days to allow recovery in Calendar

   I accidentally deleted an event and would like to recover it. If deleted events are stored in a separate "Deleted Events" calendar for 30 days, then I could recover the event (or at least view its details to accurately recreate it).

4. Added a simple option to make emails unreadable by AI

   I heard about a great tool on GitHub that simply makes text unreadable by AI: gibberify by Will Patti (wdpatti).
   The tool is available at this address: https://github.com/GeneploreAI/gibberifier
   I think it would be great to integrate this into Proton Mail so that text can be made unreadable with a single click.

5. iOS shortcut for sending an email

   It should be possible to automate proton email sending via iOS shortcuts app in the same way as it works for the Apple Mail app.

   Example workflow:
   1. Select Files — lets the user pick one or more files.
   2. Send Email — prefilled like:
   • Body text: “Hello, here’re my attachments:” and then an embedded File token (the file(s) selected above).
   • Fields in the action header: with Subject and to Recipients (both are parameter “chips”).
   • Extra fields shown:
   • From: (optional)
   • Cc: (email addresses)
   • Bcc: (email addresses)
   • A toggle: Show Compose Sheet (checked), meaning it will open the composer UI instead of silently sending.

   Action: “Send Email (via )”

   • To (list of email addresses or contacts)

   • Accept multiple files from “Select Files” and attach all.

   • Support common types: PDF, images, video, ZIP, text, Office docs.
   • Handle large files:
   • configurable limit + clear errors
   • optional “upload link instead of attach” mode (if your app supports it)

   3) Recipient + address resolution
   • Allow recipients from:
   • raw emails
   • Contacts
   • lists passed in from earlier Shortcut steps
   • Validate addresses; fail gracefully with which address is invalid.

   4) Account / identity selection
   • From maps to:
   • chosen mailbox (IMAP/SMTP account) or
   • alias identity (Reply-To / Sender if supported)
   • If not provided: use default account.

   5) UX parity with Shortcuts “chips”
   • Parameters must appear as editable token fields in Shortcuts (like “Subject”, “Recipients”, and the File token embedded in the body).
   • Support variable insertion in body/subject (e.g., file name, date, clipboard text).

   6) Reliability + privacy
   • Clear permission prompts (Contacts access only if needed).
   • No sending until user explicitly allows silent sending (or require compose sheet).
   • Don’t retain attachments beyond sending unless user opts in.
   • Return deterministic errors so automations can branch (e.g., “NoAccountConfigured”, “Offline”, “AuthExpired”, “AttachmentTooLarge”).

   7) Platform implementation notes (so it actually works)
   • Implement via App Intents (so actions show up in Shortcuts properly).
   • Support running while locked where possible (otherwise explain limitation via error + suggest compose sheet).

6. Change behavior of check all box when some emails are already selected

   When some emails are already selected, the current behavior of the check all box is to check all on the first click, and uncheck all on the second click. This is the opposite of the behavior in other email apps such as Gmail. If you already have some boxes checked, it's more likely that you've just finished whatever action you were taking and just need to deselect them all again, so the first click should uncheck all the boxes, and then a second click would check all the boxes. Or at least that's my opinion. If this ends up being controversial, it could maybe be a behavior that could be toggled in the settings.

   When some emails are already selected, the current behavior of the check all box is to check all on the first click, and uncheck all on the second click. This is the opposite of the behavior in other email apps such as Gmail. If you already have some boxes checked, it's more likely that you've just finished whatever action you were taking and just need to deselect them all again, so the first click should uncheck all the boxes, and then a second click would check all the boxes.    Currently, when I receive a push notification on my iOS device about a new email, the notification remains visible even after I've opened and read that email on another device (such as my laptop or desktop). This creates notification clutter and doesn't reflect the actual state of my inbox.

   Proposed Feature:
   Implement cross-device notification synchronization so that push notifications are automatically dismissed on iOS when the corresponding email is read on any other logged-in device.

   Use Case:
   Receive email notification on iPhone
   Open and read the email on laptop/desktop
   Notification automatically disappears from iPhone lock screen and notification center

   Benefits:
   Reduces notification clutter
   Provides accurate inbox state across all devices
   Improves user experience by eliminating manual notification dismissal
   Brings Proton Mail in line with other modern email clients that support this feature

8. Import contacts direct to group

   When importing new contacts to Proton, it would be very helpful to be able to import them direct into a contact group in Proton.
   Alternatively, release a separate Contacts module where contacts can be flexibly sorted and managed so, for example, a most recent import list can be identified by import date and assigned to a group.

9. Highlight starred mails

   When you add a star to your mail, it should change the background colour in the list of mails.
   It should also be possible to arrange your mails so that the starred mails are on top of the list (sorted by date), and regular mails are at the bottom (also sorted by date).

   This would highlight the starred mails. I am not a fan of the starred mails mixed in between regular mails.

11. Allow sending calendar invitations to your own Proton addresses/aliases

    Proton Calendar prevents users from inviting their own Proton addresses or aliases to events, even when those addresses belong to different calendars.

    If I try to invite one of my own Proton aliases (e.g., personal@example.com) to an event created in a different calendar that I also own (e.g., a shared team calendar), Proton blocks the invitation. Inviting my own addresses should be allowed when the invited address is not the owner of the originating calendar.

    Why this matters?

    Users with multiple Proton calendars cannot keep their schedules in sync, reducing the convenience of shared calendars.

    For example, I have:
    - a shared “Product team” calendar owned by product@example.com
    - a personal work calendar owned by personal@example.com

    If an event is created in the shared calendar and personal@example.com is invited, it should block that time in my personal calendar.

12. Mail and Calendar view both simultaneously. /ProtonMail-desktop.deb

    Find it inefficient to constantly switch between Mail and Calendar within the same window when need to view both simultaneously.
    ie. you can't have distinct, separate windows for Mail and Calendar open at once. I guess its not suited to multi monitor setup ATM.

13. Collapsible replies within an existing message

    Current email messages that are replies of replies of replies are well organized in threads, however the email message itself is extremely long and having to scroll through the messages within a thread defeats the purpose if we are unable to see just the message and not the quoted text.

    It would be great if you can collapse the quoted text. That's the feature request. Nothing crazy, just a way to hide sections of the email that are redundant and not useful (since the thread actually exists).

    Ability to edit the URL of a previously added other (public, external, shared) calendars. Currently, to make a change I have to add it as a new calendar, delete the old calendar, manually set calendar name, color, and notification settings. The URL is the only setting that's not editable

15. Increase the cap on address deletions for paid users and display clear UI about cap limit

    There is a very strict cap on how many and how often addresses can be deleted. As a Mail Plus customer, I get 10 addresses in total - which is a solid value - but I can apparently only delete one every year (?) or so. The actual cap limit is not published - the app simply fails with an error when try to delete a second address "too soon".

    I understand why deleting addresses is strictly capped: to prevent abuse, and it also appears to be a technologically somewhat expensive, plus that address is now forever unavailable to anyone.

    But it would be nice if the cap were just a tad more lenient. The reason is it turns out I need to change a few of the addresses over time for my uses, say: I need to delete 2 old ones and add 2 new ones when my life situation changes.

    We can email product support and ask for 1-off deletions, but that is an annoyance (takes days). That also must cost Proton real money for human interaction/support.

    So how about increasing the cap to 4 (5? 7?) per [time period], along with UI that lets us know how many deletions we have left and in what time period.

    Summary:

    1. Increase the limit on address deletions to some small number (4?) over some well-defined time period

    2. Display UI with how many address deletions are left in our cap at any point in time.

    3. Clearly display what the cap is (per year? per six months?). It is fine to live within a limit, and I understand why there must be limits on address deletions, but it would help to know what the limit and time period is.

16. Subscribed Google Calendar is not synced

    I subscribed to a few Google Calendars. It displays (not synchronized) several times a day. This is because Google blocks requests and you have to wait until the block is automatically lifted.

    Could you consider doing the sync less often and adding the option for manual sync?
    I saw this on TutaMail and thought it was pretty clever. It allows the calendar to automatically sync once or twice a day, and if you want, you can start manual sync.

18. Modernize/expand the email editor

    The email editor should have more formatting functions.

    • Markdown as input transform to HTML mail with preview function. (This would cover pretty much everything you could need.)

    • Create and manage tables

    • More editor functionalities (links from Drive)

    • Add meetings

    • Indentation levels (increase/decrease indentation)

    The current editor feels like Notepad from Windows 95.

19. Easily move recurring events (including birthdays) between calendars

    Currently, managing recurring events, such as annual birthdays or weekly meetings, requires a complex process of recreation if the user wishes to change which calendar they belong to (e.g., moving an event from a 'Personal' calendar to a 'Family' or 'Work' calendar).

    Please implement a simple 'move to' function for recurring events that transfers the entire series to the new calendar. This would streamline organization and data management within the Proton ecosystem, improving the user experience significantly."
