  1. Contact: We write Family name followed by given name, so please add ability to change order

I'm dissatisfied with the Contact feature's default display order, which shows given names before family names. In my cultural context, the standard notation is to write family names followed by given names, so the current requirement to place names after family names makes the interface extremely unusable.
Please allow users to choose between both the "given name-surname" and "surname-given name" formats.
As a Japanese person, I suspect this would be equally true for Chinese and Korean users as well.

  2. Schedule recurring email to offer in the future. Daily, weekly, etc.

Adding features to the schedule feature to allow for a routine email (reminders and such) to be sent on a custom timeline, as in repeated calendar scheduling options. Daily, weekly, custom times, start and end dates, etc.

  4. Allow images in Auto-Reply rmessage

Please allow us to put images in the Auto-Reply message. We used to have this feature in Google, and lost it when we switched to Proton.

We love using Auto-Reply as a first, automatic response from our business when customers reach out to us, and it would be much improved with images.

  5. Linux version of GUI ProtonMail Import-Export app

I would like to propose that the Linux version of the ProtonMail Import-Export app gets a GUI version like the Windows version, which seems to have become unavailable for some reason.
It simply is easier to use and also gives users the option to batch-export and import individual email folders, while the current Linux version only lets export or import all email folders.

  7. Calendar: Allow to include description in email notification

To make calendar notifications useful and actionable, they should include all relevant detail. This specifically includes the event’s description.

Right now, email notifications do not include event descriptions.

Understanding this is for security and privacy reasons even within Proton networks, please enable an option (preferably per calendar) to include descriptions, perhaps all details, in email notifications.

This would make calendar notifications actionable, allow users to decide the level of detail and privacy they need, and still recognize Proton’s privacy approach.

  8. Option to be able to click anywhere on email when shift / ctrl clicking

I know you can select email by pressing the thumbnail and using ctrl-click or shift-click from there to select, but I'd like to have the option to do this without having to press the thumbnail every time.

Often I end up accidentally clicking away or forgetting and clicking the email itself when selecting and its quite annoying. Or it ending up taking longer to select emails because I have to carefully click each one.

Worst case please add it as an toggleable setting.

  9. Include notifications in subscribed calendar

Sharing calendar via link should have an option to include also notifications. Currently only manually exported calendar contains notifications, which makes it impossible to sync calendar via subscrbtion.

  11. PDF viewer in Android ProtonMail app, with easy save to ProtonDrive

Completed request 7808634 was for pdf preview, which of course works in ProtonMail Windows app, and also in ProtonDrive Android.

But in ProtonMail Android, although I've updated to latest version, the "Open With" for pdf attachments doesn't offer me an integrated Proton pdf viewer.
Only 3rd party ones, including Google Drive and Dropbox... giving me a quick workflow to save recieved pdfs into Dropbox. But of course I'd like my default cloud to be ProtonDrive!

  12. Allow increase of tiny composer font size in iOS app

The composer font size in the iOS app is tiny and there is currently no way to increase the size. Changing font size in the per app settings under accessibility (in iOS) has no effect (it increases the font in the UI, but not in composer). This makes the iOS app next to useless for actually writing emails for anyone with any level of visual impairment, or just poor middle-aged eyes. Right now the only option is to compose emails in the Notes app and paste them in. Please fix this! It's a basic accessibility issue that discriminates against the…

  13. Allow sending calendar invitations to your own Proton addresses/aliases

Proton Calendar prevents users from inviting their own Proton addresses or aliases to events, even when those addresses belong to different calendars.

If I try to invite one of my own Proton aliases (e.g., personal@example.com) to an event created in a different calendar that I also own (e.g., a shared team calendar), Proton blocks the invitation. Inviting my own addresses should be allowed when the invited address is not the owner of the originating calendar.

    Why this matters?

Users with multiple Proton calendars cannot keep their schedules in sync, reducing the convenience of shared calendars.

    For example, I have:…

  15. Dark mode not rendering correctly on mobile

When I use dark mode on the Proton Mail mobile app, it doesn't render certain emails correctly. Specifically it doesn't adjust the background color consistently, so some sections have very low contrast and become unreadable. When I open the same emails on my browser, they render just fine on all the themes. The issue seems specific to mobile. It would be very helpful to have a more consistent experience across mobile and browser. I have kind of given up on opening up emails on mobile for this reason because sometimes I truly can't ready them.

  16. Restore the Tracker‑Shield Indicator in Proton Mail Mobile Apps

Add back the visual indicator that shows whether incoming messages are being protected by the legacy tracker‑blocking shield on both Android and iOS versions of Proton Mail. Users rely on this cue to confirm that tracking pixels and malicious links are being blocked. Providing an option to re‑enable the old shield UI—or a clear, in‑app status display for the new shield—would improve transparency and trust in the app’s privacy protections.

  18. Feature Request: Customizing SMTP Token (Password) Format

The SMTP mentioned below refers specifically to the SMTP Submission feature and is not related to the Proton Mail Bridge app.

Please implement one of the following options to allow the use of "Strong Passwords" for SMTP:

    1. Adopt the Proton Pass mechanism: Allow users to adjust the length and format of the generated SMTP password.

    2. Or allow manual input: Enable users to set their own custom password (and of course, password I have input must meet Proton’s minimum security and strength requirements).

  20. Support older MacOS versions (e.g. Mojave 10.14.6)

Is it possible to support older OS versions with a desktop app? Even a reduced feature set would be fine.

My OS version is MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 for several reasons (stability, performance, etc.).

I still like the convenience of a desktop app to handle my various email addresses for quick access (versus web interface).
