Disable WKD
Proton Mail is currently discouraged for upstream Linux kernel development [1] due to automatic email encryption using WKD. That's bad. Can this please be made configurable?

Provide a log of forwarded email
A simple log in the email settings context that can show the email (not the whole email) just the msg details - sender, recipient, forwarding target, date/time, etc in a simple 1-line format - would be extremely helpful for those of us managing many user boxes and addresses and needing to be able to know/prove if an email arriving has indeed been forwarded to a foreign box.

Allow an application to access Inbox
Allow an application/web app to access inbox using a generated token, API key, etc.
For example, there are some phone or web apps that scrape the inbox to look for package delivery information.1 vote -

Hi, folks; very happy with Proton over the past 6+ months.I did a quick search and didn't find quite this feedback topic. It's extremely minor, but feels like one of those embarrassing little things that's easy to miss in development.
Like many, I use email from my desktop as well as my mobile, and I wouldn't mind advertising that I'm using either Linux, or a more sustainable smartphone than average. It would be awesome if the files sent back and forth in an email conversation could all be displayed in a seperate view (like whatsapp), so

Manuel add/select excluded "my addresses" / Mail accounts from "All Mails"
Manual add/select which email accounts (“my addresses”) should be excluded from all mails. At the moment we can only select “excluded spam and trash” from all mails. It would be nice if we can manual add or select also other mail addresses found under “my addresses”. For example if I have an auto forward rule, I do not want to see the mail in all mails. I have created a folder and added a filter/rule to move those mails to a specific folder because I do not want to see them every time. Would be great to add this function…

Microsoft 365 compatible
The only thing proton mail misses for many companies to use this would be for proton mail to be compatible with Microsoft365.
This would need a Microsoft Entra ID application with the correct API rights (email read/write delegated rights)

theres no point in upgrading if i cannot use these features on my phone.... i BARELY use my computer.... jeez. so annoying.. im trying to create an alias and this is like pulling teeth

Collapse nested folders on Android app
Please allow us to collapse nested folders on the Android mail app. Currently they are permanently maximized, defeating the purpose of nesting. Let us set our own expirations for trash and spam
The request "Auto-Delete for Trash & Spam" is marked completed.
However I can't find a setting to change expiration from the default 30 days. A number of comments under that request asked for it. I don't need to keep things around and would like to shorten the expiration.

Public key exposes full email address
I used the free plan for Proton mail and SimpleLogin aliases.
When I send email to the reverse aliases, turning on the option "Attach public key" exposed my true email.
I don't want that.
Is this intentional or an error to be fixed?1 vote -
ability to open separate windows/tabs on desktop app
It's a PITA having to toggle views from calendar to e-mail or between e-mails and inbox in the same window.
Trying to refer to your calendar while writing e-mails is annoying :(
Can we get tabs in the existing window or the ability to open new windows.
While I'm at it why doesn't my proton pass work for the login to this feedback window trough the desktop app??

Allow screenshots of an email
With the new version 4.0.13 of protonmail Android, we can't take screenshot of a mail content to share it to another application. This is annoying because i sometimes want to share an information with a friend via social networks or any chat application using screenshots.
It would be nice to allow to take screenshots of a particular mail (like the print menu) when the user wants to.

Column for exact time of mail reception/sending rather than "Today","Yesterday", "May 15".Time Stamp like "2024-05-04 07:08:01" would be nic
Currently there is no exact time shown for mail reception/sending Rather than being limited to "Today","Yesterday", "May 15", it would be great to have the opton for some kind of Time Stamp like "2024-05-04 07:08:01"

Add search operators ("from:" "to:" "has:attachment" etc.) to webmail / browser mail
Please make it so Proton's in-browser webmail has the ability to search using operators, the way virtually all other e-mail providers and clients allow (by typing things like the following into the Search bar):
- from:[name/address/domain]
- to:[name/address/domain]
- cc:[name/address/domain]
- has:attachment
- before:YYYY/MM/DD
- after:YYYY/MM/DD
- subject:"[text in subject]"
This is a basic (and absolutely crucial) feature for an e-mail inbox to have, and all other providers have it. I do not want to be running multiple searches using the clunky mouseclick menu, as that is highly inconvenient and wastes a lot of time.
Please add this feature! I have been on premium for 2 years…

Identify the Update Dialog Box
When an update is available for the ProtonMail Desktop app (Windows) there is no identification within the dialog prompt as to what is being updated. One day, I bravely clicked on the Restart option and realized it was the ProtonMail Windows app. I have a screenshot but don't know how to upload it to you.

one click folder move in mobile app as it is in desktop app
In the desktop Mail app a move of an email to a different folder takes one click to identify and move the email. In the mobile Mail app, it takes two clicks, one to identify and another to click "Done." The latter is redundant.

Preview spreadsheets in attachments
Being able to preview spreadsheets in mail attachments would be very helpful, seeing as I already use the picture previews and PDF previews, but I receive many spreadsheets via mail.
