1. One click between calendar and mail

   Please provide a way to switch between calendar and mail with one button click, instead of opening a menu. I'm annoyed every time I want to look at the calendar that I click the 4-dot button, then choose calendar. There is plenty of real-estate in the app to put some tabs or buttons for this.

   Also- it would be nice to be able to open the calendar directly from a windows shortcut icon.

2. Gmail sync connection should delete email in Gmail when deleted in Proton Mail

   The Gmail Connection feature is very nice--when I receive an email in Gmail, it immediately shows up in Proton Mail. However, it continues to remain in Gmail until I go back and delete it. This means I have an ever-growing collection of unread emails in Gmail. In my opinion, this is a Proton Mail bug because it will eventually cause Gmail to hit its storage limit and subsequently for new Gmail messages to not appear in Proton Mail.

   There is a similar feedback issue requesting an enforced retention period for synced mail, but I think there is a much simpler and intuitive solution: When I permanently delete a Gmail-synced email in Proton Mail, then permanently delete the email in Gmail.

3. Configurable reminders for muted email categories

   The new email categories—such as Social, Promotions, and Transactions—are a great way to keep the inbox more organized. However, when a category is muted, it can become easy to forget to check it altogether, even when new messages have arrived.

   I would love to see configurable reminders for individual categories. If there are new messages since I last viewed a category, Proton Mail could show a subtle reminder:

   • At a chosen time, such as every evening
   • At a configurable frequency, for example daily or weekly
   • Only when the category contains unread messages since it was last opened

   Ideally, this would be optional and discreet—not a push notification for every new email, but rather a periodic summary or reminder.

   Previously, filters could be used to silence certain types of email, but those messages would still appear in the inbox and remain visible. Categories solve that problem much better, but muting a category can make it too easy to overlook it entirely. A scheduled reminder would create a better balance between a calm inbox and not missing messages that are still worth reviewing occasionally.

6. Avoid main email address leak when using Hide-my-email aliases with PGP options enabled

   Options under https://account.proton.me/u/6/mail/encryption-keys#pgp-settings are causing main Proton email address leak to a recipient of the email sent from my Hyde-my-email alias.

   User should be warned when enabling the option or asc/key attaching disabled when sending from alias.

10. Auto-Reply for Individual Addresses

    Proton Mail currently only supports a single global auto-reply. Users with multiple addresses or aliases have no way to set individual auto-responses per address.

    Proposed improvement: Allow users to configure auto-reply settings independently for each email address/alias on their account.

    Each address should have its own:

    Custom message text — so replies match the context of that address (e.g. professional tone for a work address, casual for personal)
    Schedule (date range) — to enable auto-replies only during specific periods, independently per address
    Sender filter — choose whether all senders or only known contacts trigger the auto-reply
    On/off toggle — quickly enable or disable the auto-reply per address without deleting the configuration
    Why this matters: Many Proton Mail users rely on multiple addresses to separate different areas of their life (work, personal, projects, volunteering, etc.). A global auto-reply doesn't reflect this — it either leaks context across addresses or forces users to choose which address gets an auto-reply. Per-address control would make Proton Mail's auto-reply feature truly usable for multi-address setups.

12. Add a filter to hide emails that are already in the Trash

    Idea:
    Give users an option to exclude messages that are already in the Trash folder when they search or filter their mailbox.

    Why this matters:
    I have about 30 000 messages, many of which I have already moved to Trash.
    When I use the normal “search” or “filter by sender/recipient” function, the results still include those trashed messages.
    Because the Trash folder keeps items for 30 days before permanent deletion, the unwanted messages stay visible and clutter the results.

    What would help:
    A simple checkbox or toggle such as “Hide messages in Trash” (or “Exclude trashed mail”) that can be turned on while searching or filtering.
    When the option is active, only messages that are not in the Trash folder are shown, letting me review the remaining, relevant emails more quickly.

    Benefit:
    Faster, cleaner searches for everyone who regularly cleans up their inbox.
    Reduces confusion caused by seeing both active and already‑trashed mail in the same result set.
    Improves overall usability, especially for users with large mailboxes or limited English proficiency.

13. Feature Request: Select existing Proton Meet Rooms when creating a Calendar event

    Summary

    When creating a new calendar event, I'd like to be able to select from my existing Proton Meet Rooms as the meeting location, rather than only being able to generate a brand-new Proton Meet link.

    Current Behaviour

    In Proton Calendar's event creation dialog, the only Proton Meet integration available is "Add Proton Meet conferencing", which generates a fresh, one-off meeting link for that specific event.

    Meanwhile, Proton Meet offers reusable Rooms (both a personal meeting room and custom rooms you can create under "My rooms"), each with a permanent link. However, these Rooms are not surfaced anywhere in the Calendar event creation flow.

    The Problem

    If I want to use an existing Room for a scheduled event, my only options are:

    1. Use "Add Proton Meet conferencing" – but this creates a disposable link rather than reusing my Room, meaning the meeting won't be accessible via the permanent Room link I've already shared with people.
    2. Manually copy the Room link from Proton Meet and paste it into the Location field as plain text – but this loses the native "Join with Proton Meet" button that invitees see when the link is added through the proper conferencing integration.

    Neither option is ideal. The first ignores the Rooms I've deliberately set up, and the second degrades the experience for invitees.

    While that touches on a related area, I think it's addressing a slightly different need. My focus here is specifically on surfacing your existing Rooms from the Calendar event picker itself, rather than allowing manual pasting of arbitrary custom Meet links.

    Proposed Solution

    Add a room picker within the Calendar event creation dialog that surfaces the user's existing Proton Meet Rooms (personal room and any custom rooms), alongside the current "generate new link" option. Selecting a Room would insert its permanent link as the conferencing URL, preserving the full "Join with Proton Meet" experience in calendar invitations.

    Ideally, it would also be possible to create a new Room inline from the event creation dialog, but even just being able to select existing Rooms would resolve the core issue.

    Rooms are a great feature for recurring meetings, team-specific spaces, and persistent links. But without Calendar integration, they exist in a silo – you can only really use them for ad-hoc, unscheduled calls.     I would like to suggest an improvement regarding the integration between Proton Mail, Proton Pass, and SimpleLogin.

    Currently, if a custom domain is configured in Proton Mail, it cannot also be used for aliases in SimpleLogin. This creates an unnecessary limitation within what is presented as a unified Proton ecosystem.

    As a customer using multiple Proton services, I expected my verified custom domain to be available across all Proton products without requiring separate configurations or forcing me to choose between receiving email through Proton Mail or creating aliases through SimpleLogin.

    Suggested Improvement

    Once a domain has been verified in a Proton account, users should be able to:

    • Use the same custom domain for Proton Mail addresses.
    • Create SimpleLogin aliases under that same domain.
    • Generate Hide-my-email aliases in Proton Pass using the same domain.
    • Manage everything from a single interface, without duplicate DNS configuration or ownership verification.

    Why This Matters

    The current separation creates unnecessary friction:

    • Users must choose which Proton service "owns" the domain.
    • It breaks the feeling of a unified ecosystem.
    • It makes custom-domain alias management more complicated than it needs to be.
    • It discourages users from fully adopting Proton Pass and SimpleLogin together.

    Possible Implementation

    One approach could be introducing a "Shared Domain" model.

    A verified domain would belong to the user's Proton account rather than to an individual product. Each address or alias could then simply be assigned to Proton Mail or SimpleLogin while sharing the same DNS configuration and encryption infrastructure.

    This would provide a much more seamless experience while preserving security and maintaining clear separation between mailboxes and aliases.

16. Hide username/email from the browser tab title for better privacy

    I have a small suggestion that would honestly be a lifesaver for opsec. Currently, Proton Mail displays the full email address in the browser tab. This is a bit risky when sharing screenshots or screen sharing in university or work groups, as it’s incredibly easy to accidentally leak your address.

    It would be amazing if we could get an option to hide the email address from the tab title, or just have it say "Inbox" instead. It’s a small tweak but would go a long way in making the web app feel even more secure.

17. Option to hide or rearrange unused categories (Views, Folders, Labels) in the left sidebar

    While I can see how many people will use the Folders, Views, and Labels in the left sidebar, I only use Labels; I don't really have use for Views and I don't use Folders. I would like the option to remove them from the sidebar, or at least move them to the bottom of the sidebar so they're not taking up space above my Labels.

18. Bulk import/export of sieve filters

    As a power-user I have extensive Sieve scripts that are split up into domains of functionality so that it is easier to manage and so that I can run smaller pieces of the larger filter set against my existing mailbox if that is necessary without it needing to run the whole filter.

    I also keep them in version control and have a suite of tests that I run against them when making changes. When I'm done with implementing something new it is really frustrating to have to go to each one individually, copy the contents and paste them into the UI. It would be great if you could support some means of bulk-updating the filters. I can think of three ways to do this:

    1. Map the filenames to the names of the filters. If they don't match, prompt the user for the filter to update for unmatched files.

    2. Support uploading as a zip file, with a TOML or YAML config that maps filter names to files.

    3. Support some custom syntax in a comment at the top of the file that specifies the filename

    Then, I think ideally it does the check for each one in turn to ensure that it can update. If any of the files are invalid or otherwise cause errors the whole update gets rejected. If everything can apply cleanly then all of the changes are applied at once.

    This way if there are changes in scripts that depend on each other there won't be unexpected behavior.

    I would think this wouldn't be too terribly difficult to support, and wouldn't expose less savvy users to any more risk than is already present when using these filters. It is very frustrating to click each one in turn, and it's too easy to lose track of which ones you've updated. Or to accidentally paste the contents of the wrong file into a filter.

19. Simplify the scope of Calendar

    Proton’s standard calendar covers 24 hours a day. I don’t work at night.

    I am therefore looking for a way to adjust the layout of my calendars, by modifying the time schedule, for example from 07:00 to 20:00 (instead of 00:00 to 24:00).
    This allows you to browse more efficiently in this time slot, while keeping the display of 1, 3 days or the week (so without using the agenda version).
    Is there a setting that allows this?

20. "Mailing list header" should not waste that much space

    The "This message is from a mailing list. - Unsubscribe" currently takes up a lot of screen space!

    While I like the option to easily unsubscribe, its not a task that I do often. So that feature should not take that much space.

    Also the message "This message is from a mailing list" is not very helpflul since its already clear that this is the case for most mails.

    The mail header currently has a lot of empty space (on large screen). Please change that feature so it stays aside and did not make the header larger.
