Better technlology to bypass websites that actively block VPNs
I am increasingly facing websites that actively block people when connecting via VPN. I see this trend increasing and it is a threat to privacy.
There was already a feature request in this regard labeled as "finished". Funny enough, the website mentioned in that request still doesn't work with the VPN enabled: https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932836-proton-vpn/suggestions/46860823-bypassing-vpn-blockers-option
It is really easy for websites to see that the connection is via a VPN and we need better technology design to avoid being blocked for the wrong reasons.
I certainly don't want to connect to banks or other sites without a VPN connection, especially when in…

Dedicated IP for personal plans
It is an option for business users and would be a nice add for home users. My wife is sick of all the capchas and blocked sites from the VPN. I have been using Proton mail since 2019 and the unlimited since last year. Had to switch back to mail only until you add the dedicated ip to home users at a reasonable cost.
Thank you for the consideration.

Exclude unwanted countries from the list of random and fastest servers.
It often happens that in random or fastest mode, a connection is established through servers in countries that are not desirable for many people.

Feature parity between Windows/Mac and Linux
I've started using Proton VPN in Windows, and it's a great app, full of resources, with great graphics, many resources, ability to auto-start, start minimized, auto-connect to a profile... The Mac version also looks very similar to Windows'.
However, recently I changed to Linux (Pop OS, Ubuntu based), and although I had no problems installing the GUI version of the app, it does not even remotely resemble the Windows/Mac version. It's a very, veeeeeeeeery simple app, without the majority of configuration options present in their other OS's counterparts.
Proton VPN team should dedicate more time to make the Linux version…

Real Quantum Encryption
For all Apps here are a few post-quantum cryptographic algorithms that are being considered as potential replacements for current cryptographic standards:
- Lattice-based cryptography: This includes algorithms like NTRUEncrypt, Kyber, and NewHope.

Linux variety
Official ProtonVPN Linux App according to https://protonvpn.com/support/linux-vpn-setup/ supports the following distribution combinations:
* Debian GNOME
* Fedora GNOME
* Ubuntu GNOMEThis is very one sided, each of them uses GNOME. I think adding variety with XFCE and KDE would be useful support.
Debian and Ubuntu are distributions in the same stream supporting more streams for example Arch would be useful.
Or at least target different package managers, the current supported list probably only uploads the package to APT and DNF.
Adding Pacman/AUR and maybe Zipper or Portage would be very useful to support the Linux communities.14 votes -
Option to manually sort Profiles
Add the option to sort profiles, I dont like to create a new profile and it goes to the bottom of the list when I want it next to a similar one.

macOS/iOS Feature Parity with Windows/Android
The Windows and Android apps often lead the way with new features, and those features frequently never make it to macOS or iOS.
For example, profiles are much more configurable in Windows/Android than they are in the Apple apps. Similarly, if you look at the requests on this site, there are many that are planned for Windows/Android … but will never come to macOS or iOS.
The macOS and iOS apps are surprisingly limited -- you can't even tell what city you are connected to in the macOS app -- and it's frustrating knowing that other platforms enjoy much more…

App tracking protection like Duck Duck Go for internal Android privacy, coupled with vpn would be next level protection
App Tracking Prevention
DuckDuckGo has this great feature where it essentially runs a VPN but it blocks traffic from android apps from being sent out. So, when data tracking engines and apps(e.g., Google, Adobe, Amplitude, Branch Metrics, or any app) attempt to send personal data from your device, DuckDuckGo blocks it. It also tells you what apps are trying to send info, and to who. Imagine the internal protection coupled with the Vpn external protection this would provide. Unfortunately Duck Duck Go product works as a VPN on phone, and you cant run 2 Vpns simultaneously. If Proton incorporated the…

Affordable dedicated ip
A cheaper plan for dedicated IP (and also available for family/personal accounts). 50,-/month/server is way too much when competitors offer it for 120,-/24 months..

Split Tunneling: Two Different VPN Connections Simultaneously
If technically feasible, I would find it great if two VPN connections could be established simultaneously via split tunneling, for example one for streaming and one for everything else, or one with port-forwarding and at the same time a second one without port-forwarding.

Forward More Than One port
Currently with dynamic forwarding a single port can be forwarded for P2P connections. Sometimes more than a single port is necessary (an obfuscated port). It would be helpful if we had the ability to forward multiple ports within the GUI rather than searching for third-party solutions.

Option for Gig speed support. Premium is ok
There is a fast-developing trend in US for consumers easily accessing prosumer class high speed fiber for reasonable prices. 5-10 Gb. Mac mini supports 10GbE. USB-C supports 10Gb. Thunderbolt 5 available on Mac... It would be valuable if some of these bandwidth levels weren't bottlenecked at the VPN. My best case seems to be from 10GbE shunted down to ~750 MbE if using ProtonVPN... So the choice is speed OR security? Prosumers are not very price sensitive...

Change or revert the new look.
Companies seem to always go back and forth with this constantly in these industries with making things look more compact. Usually all this does is make it take more clicks to get to something that the user needs to get to making it more inconvenient to use. Function over form please. When trying to pick a certain or specific connection now it takes three to four clicks going through menus when it used to just be a list.

Allow profiles to select a city on macOS/iOS
This is already available with Windows and Android, please bring this existing feature to macOS and iOS.
It's especially useful for users in bilingual countries, where only being able to select a country at the profile/quick connect level often lands you on a server in a city that speaks a different language (and thus causes websites to default to the wrong language).
Selecting by city is a tedious manual step on these platforms, and is annoying to have to do by hand every time.

4.1.13 where is the checkmark in the icon in the tray - this should be checked before every release.
I don't have a flicker. It's worked before. green check-mark in the tray icon is not appearing today with latest release. It should be checked (no pun intended) before every release. this is not the first time I've had this issue, I had it on at least one other release.

Xray-core(dpi bypass protocol, in authoritarian countries)
We suggest considering Xray-core as an alternative to current VPN protocols. Due to the expanding list of countries using internet censorship. Xray, as a successor to V2Ray, promises significant improvements: higher performance due to an optimized core, support for modern protocols (VLESS, Trojan) and advanced traffic obfuscation (XTLS), which is critical for bypassing DPI and ensuring reliable access.
