Basic VPN plan
My current VPN service, which includes Google VPN and additional features, costs $25 per year. While I have the free version of ProtonVPN, I don't use it because it lacks servers in my home country, causing issues with accessing some local websites. I would consider switching to ProtonVPN if they offered a paid tier just above the free plan with a reasonable price, ideally including 1 or 2 overseas servers and 1-2 local servers for accessing local content.

I know Proton is a business and as such, it has to make money, so I understand the changes made to the Free VPN plan. I'd like to suggest a new plan that's basically how the old Free plan was, but at an affordable cost, like 1 USD/month or 10 USD/year.
Not anybody needs a full blown package, and for many, especially those in developing countries with weak currencies, it's hard to justify and pay almost U$200 or U$10 per month, so the old Free plan was the perfect alternative to this, and maybe the only alternative, since most major and trustworthy VPN services charge similar prices under similar conditions.
What I'm basically saying is: I don't need the full package, I can't justify paying the asked price for it, the old free plan was almost anything I needed and I'm willing to pay a fair price to have it back, so I don't feel like I'm free leeching on a good service.
Thank you

Please consider a cheap as a bubble gum subscription 1 ZAR per month or 12 ZAR per year if small individual payments are expensive to process (basically an alternative to being advertising supported which I'm glad you don't show ads and at R1 (ZAR) a month you would probably earn more than if I saw ads.
For this very small fee, basically the bridge between not wanting to pay enough money to have to think about it especially when needing to tighten belts and reduce spending, and free users that cost your company money to give them VPN service.
For this subscription the little extra I'd want to get.
* Access to server in my own local county to have better compatibility with local websites and services (so you know it's not being used to remove geo restrictions)
* NetShield Ad-blocker
* VPN accelerator (to especially help if my LTE network is slow)

BASIC individuals Plan, for boring lives:
Proton VPN with 5 connections.
Proton Bridge for free email accounts access (3) with Thunderbird. Or actual account with three aliases.
$2.00 per month paid 24-36 monthly, non refundable but upgradeable.That's it, I do not need calendar, storage, Unlimited emails (I'm lucky if I get 20 emails a month as I use POP and delete from the server). Don't need Domains or priority support. Non of those things I will ever need want or especially use.
I'm actually posting this for I'm a Proton VPN Free user and I'm looking for a VPN subscription but I'm not interested in paying for things I don't want or need in Proton packages, as I'm sure Proton is losing a whole host of possible customers such as my boring self. SurfShark vpn and Privatevpn constantly run specials $2.49 and $2.00 PM respectively. You would be providing less connections with the advantage of the Bridge to users such as my self whom would otherwise never buy your product for a host of unnecessary things.
