1. Set External Drive as main location

   My mac is the lowest spec but because of the speed of M processors it runs all my software for work better than any PC i've ever had. The cost of having a massive storage space inside my Mac is the reason I cannot use Proton Drive at the moment. I have 1TB external SSD which is my Dropbox location, if I could set Proton Drive to my external SSD as the main folder my life would instantly be better. I actually love how Proton Drive functions and am desperate to get out of the chaotic Dropbox ecosystem. Please explore an option to do this with Drive. It's extremely important that a large amount of files are locally accessible but also backed up on the fly for my work. I trust Proton more than any other service out there. Keep up the good work :]

2. Cannot Share Multiple Photos at Once

   Today we can share photos one by one.
   When I pick a single photo and tap the three little dots in the lower‑right corner, a “Share” button shows up. This lets me send the photo to other apps such as WhatsApp, SMS, etc.
   But when I select several photos, there is no way to share them to other apps. That’s really disappointing.

3. Office

   I'd love to have better support for Office Documents on Proton Drive (Android / web).
   I have to work with Word and Excel at work / school, and I store these files onto Proton Drive.

   But if I have to review a document on my phone (I do it often with the foldable screen), I have to download it, then open it with another app, and it complicates greatly the operation, since it is now not saved on my Drive.

   What's more, I use the standard office Font 'Aptos' and Proton Drive web doesn't recognize it, so I end up with an ugly document, with pictures all over the place, making it quite unreadable when pictures are part of the text (i.e. for procedures).

   Please upgrade this viewing experience 🙏

4. Analyze / Sort Files by Size in Proton Drive

   Dear Proton Team,

   I would like to request a feature that allows users to sort and filter files by size across the entire Proton Drive, not just within individual folders. Currently, it is not possible to view the size of folders or to search for large files efficiently across all folders. This feature would greatly improve the user experience by making it easier to manage storage and identify large files quickly.

5. Numbered list numbers must be same font size as text.

   When using different font size for numbered lists, then number's size is small by default (not same as text's font size).

   Font size should be same for text and number.

7. Proton Drive for Windows Share Function

   With Proton Drive for Windows, I can't figure out a way to share a file or folder (invite another Proton user or create a public share link). The share button in the context menu uses Windows' native file sharing, which is not what I'm looking for. My workaround for the time being has been to open up the Proton Drive web interface, navigate to the file/folder in question, and use the share modal. Please let me know if I'm missing something. Thanks!

8. Allow adding photos from Proton Drive to Albums in the web interface

   Currently, there's no way to add photos that are already stored in Proton Drive to Photos when using the web interface. The only options are:

   • Use the iOS or Android app
   • Upload directly from your computer to Photos

   Requested feature: Add the ability to browse Proton Drive and select existing photos/videos to add to an album, directly from the web interface.

   Bonus: Ideally, this should work by reference rather than creating a duplicate. Adding a photo from Drive to an album shouldn't consume twice the storage quota.

   Use case:Users who have already uploaded and organized photos in Proton Drive shouldn't need to switch to a mobile device or re-upload files just to add them to an album. This is especially relevant for users who primarily use the web interface or are working with large batches of photos already in Drive.

   Currently, there's no way to add photos that are already stored in Proton Drive to Photos when using the web interface. The only options are:

   • Use the iOS or Android app
   • Upload directly from your computer to Photos

9. Consolidated Download Notifications for Multiple Files

   When downloading files one by one, the app currently creates a separate notification for each file. This quickly clutters the notification area and makes it inconvenient to track how many files have already been downloaded.

   It would be better to group these into a single notification that updates with the current count of downloaded files, or alternatively replaces the previous notification with a new one showing the updated total.

10. I'd like comment/tag functions for files/photos/videos on the drive

    I'd like more options for personalization and organization of files. I'd like to add hyperlinks to sources. Tags for general ideas, like "cats" without needing that to be in the title of the file.

12. Separate photos taken by camera

    Right now, after making proton drive sync all my photos from my phone, I can either view photos and screenshots, or only screenshots. There is no "only pictures taken by you" option, or at least an "everything else" option.

13. Show width and height of an image

    In Proton Drive, when opening a photo, you can't see its dimensions. You could show them for example next to the timestamp under the file name. You could additionally also add them to the info popup.

14. Enable Syncing with external Drives

    I need the feature to be able to sync not just local folders on your PC, but also from external drives attached to my PC.

    I read that this can pose a safety threat. But I still very much like to have all my data stored on a cloud and a physical drive in case I lose access or have any other problems with my cloud. I am currently using pCloud, and they allow that. That is quite the essential feature for me.

    So please allow syncing with external drives as well.

15. Automatic stripping of Metadata (EXIF, etc.) when uploading Photos

    The user can choose in the upload parameters, if they wish to delete certain EXIF data at upload time.
    They can choose to strip: Geolocation Data, Device & Technical Identifiers, Personal & Author Information, Dates & Times

17. Smart quotation marks

    Hey everyone. I want to use proton docs to write fiction in, but they don't currently have smart quotation marks enabled (unless I can't see?! but I have searched for an option). I know you can use Word to change them easily, but I use Libre Office where you can't find and replace them easily, and it'd mean changing every single quote mark by hand. Would love to have smart quotes in proton so I can stop using google drive to draft stories on the go.

18. Would love a .gitignore-like feature for file sync

    I’d love to have a gitignore-style ignore file when syncing a folder from a computer. It would make it easy to exclude certain files or subfolders from being synced useful in cases like development folders where some content (temporary files) doesn’t need to be uploaded.

    I'm considering moving away from GitHub for my personal projects I’d prefer not to store them there anymore. But right now, I don’t have a better solution that keeps everything in sync while letting me exclude unnecessary files. That’s why a feature like this would really help.

    Apologies if this isn’t in line with the intended direction or if such a request already exists. I haven’t seen it, but thought I’d share the idea just in case.

19. "recent" files in Drive so I can access files faster than clicking through my library to get to each individual file

    In the subject above--this might be able to be an option in that dropdown menu on the left side of the screen that currently just mirrors file paths.
