More view options for shared folders with images
I really need more options on how to view images in a shared folder. I work as a real-estate photographer and deliver images through Proton Drive. The brokers are complaining about the lack of preview and I really need a grid-view and carousel or other options for previewing files. I will have to terminate the use of Proton if there is no option very soon!

Proton Drive for Windows Share Function
With Proton Drive for Windows, I can't figure out a way to share a file or folder (invite another Proton user or create a public share link). The share button in the context menu uses Windows' native file sharing, which is not what I'm looking for. My workaround for the time being has been to open up the Proton Drive web interface, navigate to the file/folder in question, and use the share modal. Please let me know if I'm missing something. Thanks!

Proton Drive CLI authenticates only via full user login. No scoped tokens, no service accounts. This prevents secure automation use cases like server backups.
Business customers need:
Scoped API tokens with folder-level access restrictions Service accounts that don't consume user seats OAuth2 with granular scopes (read-only, folder-specific)Current workaround (dedicated user account) forces paying for an unused seat just to isolate access. (Or free accounts)
Security professionals and sysadmins need isolated identities for automation without exposing the full account.

Let us decide which folders are synced to other devices
When we add a folder to the Windows app to sync, we should be able to decide from where we want it to be synced and accessible.
Example with the current state:
I add a folder to the Windows app on PC 1. The folder is then accessible to all other devices and available for sync on demand.

Standardise file and folder sorting across apps
The Proton Drive web app sorts folders in the left-hand file tree lexicographically but sorts files and folders in the right-hand folder content area numerically. Files and folders in the iOS/iPadOS app are sorted lexicographically.
Let’s assume I have a folder that itself has twenty folders, each named 1 to 20. The web app sorts them as follows in the left-hand folder tree:
1,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,2,20,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
However, the web app sorts them as follows in the right-hand folder content area:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20
This is confusing. The sorting method should be standardised across all areas of all apps. Should that standard be sorting numbers…

iOS currently has a global “Keep Originals” setting, but many users avoid enabling it because they’re worried it will break compatibility with messaging apps, Windows users, or older devices. This creates a psychological barrier — people don’t want to change a global setting that affects every app on their phone.
Because of this, cloud‑storage apps like Proton Drive end up receiving converted JPEGs instead of the original HEIC files, even when users think they’re backing up originals.

Live Picture Download
Support the ability to download live photos that are stored in proton drive as live photos. Currently you can save live photos and see them live in proton drive. But if you download the live photo to your phone it doesn't save as a live photo.

"Not in Any Album" Header button
Albums a great but there is no way to see which photos are in an album or not.
Adding a selector in the header to filter and show the just ones not in an album would make it easier to manage organizing them10 votes -

Allow creating folder-pairs to sync
Allow us to define folder-pairs such that user can select one folder in the local device to pair with a folder on the cloud storage and sync the two, either unidirectionally, or bidirectionally.
This will allow users great flexibility in defining what folders/files they want to sync across their various machines.
Examples of where this has been done effectively: OneSync app on Android, DropSync app on Android.

Plaintext and source files editing
It would be great to be able view and edit plaintext or source files.
- This one feature would allow to work with dozens of file formats in different programming/scripting languages, config files etc.
- It would allow to create quick txt/md notes, where the full blown rich text editor is not required/desired.
- It would allow to use Markdown note vaults, like those used by Obsidian.
- It would allow to use tabular data in CSV format, which might cover some use cases for the (currently missing) spreadsheets feature.

Access photo as any other directory of the Drive
Photos and usual Drive seems to be orthogonal, it would be awesome to be able to have the Photos as any other directory in the Drive.
So far, I have my automatic backup of photos from the phone that lands in the Photos part and my legacy photos that are well organized altogether in a directory on my Drive. It would be great to have everything accessible as a directory.

Sorting options in upload list (by date, name, size)
When uploading files to Drive (at least in the web version), there is a panel that shows the list of current uploads. It would be really helpful if this list could be sorted — by date, name, or size. Even just sorting by date (A→Z / Z→A) would make it easier to see what was uploaded first/last and keep track of order.
In the uploads panel we currently have: All, Active, Completed, and Failed. It would be really helpful to also have a 'Queued' category. Sometimes uploads stack up, and it's hard to tell what's waiting vs what's actually transferring.…

Grid view option for share links
When opening a folder shared via a link, the files are presented in list view. There is no option for grid view. It would be nice to have the option to switch to grid view.
Users with Proton accounts can save the shared folder and view it from the "Shared with me" tab in Proton Drive. There it is possible to choose grid view. Users without Proton accounts do not have this option.
