I have a Samsung Android phone. I have Drive on it and need to have all folders password protected except for uploading photos automatically
I have a Samsung Android phone. I have Drive on it and i must be logged on Drive for my photos to automatically go to Drive 'cloud'. If I am not logged on, then photos do not go to the Drive 'cloud'. When I am logged on Drive so the photos will upload, it makes all files on Drive accessible if my phone is compromised. I want to have all other folders password protected, but photos able to upload and not be password protected. I hope you get what I am asking for. Thanks!

Option to "open with..."
Being dependent on Google Docs and Sheets, I would love to use Proton Drive to backup everything but then I'd need the option to open files that Proton Drive cannot open with another app - thus "open with..." Google Drive, etc.

Add-on for downloading files directly to proton drive
It would be very convenient if there was an add-on for the browser to download files from the Internet directly to proton drive.

selective syncing on first setup / config lock
an option to log in to drive app on windows and only sync a specific folder
and a config lock that prevents changes without the password
(usecase example:
i have my main computer which i would say is well protected but i also have a computer at my workshop that my family has access to, that is used for the lasercutter and 3d printer and i would like to only sync the workshop folder with that computer)1 vote -

iOS: Ability to Return to Previously Viewed Page in PDF Viewer
For example, if I tap on a chapter in the table of contents in a PDF and the view jumps to that chapter, I would like a “back” or “return” button allowing me to easily jump back to the table of contents.
I have a lot of books in PDF form and it would be nice to read those PDFs within the Proton Drive app instead of having to export to another app, like Adobe.

Docs: AsciiDoc Export/Download
Add a new option to Export and Download a Doc in AsciiDoc format. This would be similar to what you do now with Markdown, but the syntax is slightly different.

a way to not download all the file but just the one you need with a virtual folder like other competitor
a way to not download all the file but just the one you need with a virtual folder like other competitor like pdr. in this case you save lot of storage in the case of an small hhd like 500gb and a plan of more than 500gb

The ability to order a physical drive as backup
The ability for the customers to order a physical drive as backup for their data and deliver it to their home. Of course the customer has to pay the costs for the hard drive and the delivery.

Shourtcuts for Proton Drive
Just like there are shortcuts in proton mail "T" to move to trash, "U" to mark as unread, etc., the shourtcut integration is much needed in Proton drive. like to rename, preview, download etc..

Ability to give write access to third party apps
As of my understanding, third party apps can only read files from the Proton Drive cloud (Android). It would be nice if they could also write if you choose to. In my case, I would use it to save a keepass database back and forth.

Add a comment to an upload
In Proton Drive, I would like to add comments to the files I upload.
I use it to backup generations of programs and it would be very helpful to be able to note what changes are in each generation.

Provide a preview for all files on Mac OS
The problem with Mac OS is that only locally downloaded files have a thumbnail.
When you have a large amount of data on ProtonDrive, you don't download all the files locally, but you still need to move or reorganise them.
This is difficult to do without the preview.

2FA protection for certain files and folders
Drive should have something like the "Personal Vault" from OneDrive.
Everything in the Proton Drive is available all the time everywhere. As some files are extremely critical, but dont need to be looked at or changed all the time from everywhere, this is a convenient weakness.
Example: I don't want my Bitcoin recovery phrase on the android app to be be "protected" with a fingerprint, and on the unlocked PC not protected at all.

Aggressive Syncing Option
Option to set certain folders to "aggressively" sync. I've found that I will modify a directory on one PC. Close it, go to another PC, open it in an application, and it will have to download new versions before I can work with it. Aggressive syncing would sync immediately. Alternatively a "force sync" option to force syncing prior to attempting to access the files could work as well.

Implement Paperless-ngx type system - desirable emergent behaviour
I wanted to raise the idea of implementing a system like paperless-ngx (https://docs.paperless-ngx.com/) into the Drive product.
I feel the way file management is currently done these days is a little outdated - we no longer need to organise documents like filing cabinets.
Implementing a system like this benefits protonmail too, by (auto) consuming attachments from emails. This would also be desirable by business and individuals.

Docs: expanded colour options
specific and customisable colour coding of text and pages is helpful and important for me in how i've used google docs so far; I'd love to see Proton's Docs offer a similar feature of customisable colour-selection via a hex code colour picker or similar as well as being able change the colour of everything in the document such as page colour and individual bullet points (separately from the colour of their proceeding text) for example

Don't default move deleted files to Trash, and make this configurable and more transparent.
I only found out by accident that deleted files end up in an online-only Trash folder instead of being deleted. From a privacy and security centric company I find this quite shocking.
I would expect at the very last for this to be:
a) Opt-in, preferably with flexible retention.
b) Much, much more explicit, and definitely not entirely obscured by the app and only discoverable via the web interface.I don't want to have to remember that files I deleted are still stored at online at Proton, and having to go to the web to ensure they're really gone.
