Download progress and cancelation
Hi.
Can we have some notification for downloading files on mobile app (android)?
Like in status bar to see how much is already done and also option to cancel download.Recently i try to get file from drive and it was over 500mb. I get note "download started" in app but i had no idea how fast or how it progress. After few minutes i still had no file in phone and every time i open app it say "download started". Cant even cancel it and had to force quit app.

Zoom alternative add on for artistically inclined?
This may be a bit much for the free tier Proton servers, but here's a 2-part pitch:
(1) functional Zoom alternative
(2) Maybe a feature of said alternative or another feature entirely for a "shared canvas" "chat room" type thing? I've heard about multiple people meeting up online in a kinda Zoom-ish meeting/chat room where they have a canvas that they can create art with and write messages - and option for mic to be muted or on was available. Not sure if it's an app or a website or what, but it seemed really cool and wondered if there…

Sheets cell indenting
After using both Excel and Google sheets for years, the only feature I frequently miss in later is the ability to indent cells. This is very useful way to make clearly separate different level (Country, state, city) by just using column A instead of having to split them to multiple columns. This is especially in cases where the "upper level" is just sum of the lower levels (like in accounting reports).

Drag and drop files into sidebar (Web version)
At the moment (in the web version) one can only drag and drop files from the list of files to a folder in the top bar (My files > folder 1 > Folder 1.1, etc), but I need to be able to drag and drop files directly into folders in the left sidebar.
Another thing important for this feature to work well is to be able to expand the left sidebar, so the entire folder names are displayed.
ps. does this feature exist in the desktop app yet? I'm not using the app yet because my mac is too old...

Webinterface Uploading: Create 1 folder, upload its files and subfolders, THEN create the next folder
Currently, when you upload folders in the webinterface, i.e. a fotos folder with 300 subfolders, drive first creates all 300 folders (why?) and then starts uploading into them.
The problem is: If a download fails or you close the browser accidentally, and you have to continue the upload, you have no idea what has been uploaded and what not. So you have to delete everything and start from scratch.
It would be better if the upload happens folder by folder so you can see where the upload was interrupted and can continue right there.2 votes -
Render Photo Captions/Titles from the Photo's metatdata
(a) When viewing the photo gallery, optionally, display the photo's caption/title.
This would have to be done carefully as there are many candidate places in a photo that a "caption" of sorts is stored: jpeg caption, jpeg title, etc..
(b) The ability to edit the "caption" metadata and then modify the source file.
This means that all the effort that goes into captioning photos would not be lost as the edits would "stick" with the photo. If completed, this would make Proton Photos better than any other cloud Photo applications - as all the other store the caption away fro…

When duplicating a sheet in Proton Sheets. Please place the new sheet next to the original sheet and not all the way at the end of the list.

In that message the user receives now, when uploading, there is a question what you want to do: keep one file, keep both files or skip file (and do this for all items).Now the user gets the message : “200 items failed to move” without telling the user why.

ask to merge folders of same name during upload
During upload to the browser interface, if I upload an updated version of a previously uploaded folder structure, the app asks me if I want to replace the previous folders of the same name, if I want to skip folders of the same name, or if I want to keep both.
I propose a fourth option of merging folders of similar names and then if this choise is made, ask for the choice of replace, keep both or do nothing for files specifically. This behavior would be similar to the experience of moving or copying files in folders on Windows.…

All uploads of any kind should by accessible in My files
The way proton drive fractions everything into incompatible storage areas makes no sense. I just need a folder to store my files, synced across all devices. Depending on how I try to add files they go to:
- a photos bucket that isn't in "My files"
- a "My computer" section that seems to also not be in "My files" (and seems to split things out by device)
- ??? if I try to drag and drop them between two file explorer windows on the local machine
- "My files" if I open the web application and drag them in there (abandoning the Proton…

LAN Sync
Allow devices on the same LAN that have files already downloaded to sync the data between them rather than going through the servers to improve syncing speed.
This is especially important because:
a) Syncing speed is very slow (as mentioned elsewhere) because it doesn't pipeline well for many small files.
b) If I change my password I have to re-sync EVERYTHING. I'd be happy if that changes too, because it's pretty crazy to re-download 100s of GB just because of a password change. But if that isn't possible for the security reasons then at least the sync speed should be…2 votes -
Import files and folder structures from Notion into drive in Proton docs format
It would be very nice if I could import my whole Notion documents/structure into drive, so I could use proton docs as a notion replacement.
I find the proton docs editor already very similar to the functionality of the notion editor (60% ?). I guess there are still several formatting options missing, but proton docs is already pretty similar, so i am asking for the notion import option.Maybe you could use some open source code from anytype, which is pretty close to notion, too.

Open links within PDF preview in new tab
Currently, hyperlinks within PDFs open in the same tab. It would be great if they could open in a new tab by default (although ctrl/cmd + click can be used to open in new tab).

Make it possible to have files that exist *only* on Proton Drive in the cloud and that are *not* synced to non-cloud devices
Currently, files on Proton Drive are synced with those on a computer or mobile device. If deleted from the device, they also disappear from Proton Drive. It would be beneficial to have files stored only on Proton Drive. This could be achieved in one or both of two ways: 1) allow manual creation of cloud folders on Proton Drive that do not sync with connected devices, enabling manual addition of files and subfolders; or 2) enable users to turn off syncing for files or folders uploaded via syncing, thus disconnecting them from their original local files, allowing local deletions without…

Move Photos between Folders and Photos Tab
Hi, thanks for making Drive available for Linux. I use Fedora 39 KDE.
I also use Photo backup via Android (Samsung S23)
When I open all my files/photos in Linux web browesr, if I right click images, I can move to respective folders. As well as preview, move,rename, get link & delete.
If I open the folder that uploads Photos, via Android, this option is not available. Only download, upload or delete.

Improve swipe down gesture
When viewing a photo on Proton Drive, the swipe down gesture to return to the Photo's Home Page requires a long and precise swipe. On my iPhone 13 Pro Max, this is difficult because my thumb cannot comfortably reach the required distance.
But on my iOS's Photos app, I do not have this problem and I can comfortably swipe to go back to the next/previous photo or return to the default view with a minimal gesture
