  1. Bring Linux app quality in line with Windows and Apple apps

    The Linux apps from Proton are subpar when compared to the same apps on Windows or IOS (when they even exist).

    As a paying unlimited customer I expect much better. I propose that instead of wasting resources on features which customers have not asked for (Ai, Bitcoin wallet, etc.) you allocate more time and resources to developing your Linux ecosystem. After all, Linux is the only truly private operating system, this should be closely aligned with Proton's mission.

  3. Allow to import photos from a synced folder

    The new landed import photos feature in Proton drive only allows importing photos that are not in a synced folder. This doesn't make sense, as photos are stored separately in Proton Drive. Therefore, not allowing the import of such folders makes it impossible to move photos from the Documents Drive folder to the photo section.

  5. Selecting which cloud-based directories or folders to sync to your local device

    This feature allows you to select which cloud-based directories to sync to your local device. This is great for shared/office devices, as it allows you to only access specific cloud-based folders on your local device. This prevents someone from seeing the entire contents of a cloud-based directory or folder (OneDrive has this feature).

  6. Proton Docs: Formatting Limitations

    Proton Docs lacks advanced formatting capabilities compared to Google Docs, making it unsuitable for professional documents. Essential features are missing: headers/footers, multi-column layouts, footnotes, table of contents, watermarks, and customizable paragraph styles. This forces users to choose between privacy and professional presentation quality. Proton should prioritize implementing these formatting tools to become a viable alternative for privacy-conscious professionals.

  7. Allow hiding the user email in Proton Docs to avoid leaking personal data

    When sharing a document created in Proton Drive with another person, if the Proton user makes a comment, the original email of the account e.g., user@protonmail.com is leaked. This is a problem in my view, particularly when an inbox has multiple aliases and domains and the user does not want to leak their personal Proton email. Please allow users to hide this information altogether when sharing documents or at least choose which alias to display. Thanks.

  8. Upload photos as zip files, or allow one-time import from Google

    I'm in the process of switching off of Google's G-Suite, and moving my photos/videos off there, and into Proton Drive. Google Photos is nice because you can download a bunch of files into a zip file to save bandwidth. It would also be nice to upload that raw zip file into Proton Drive to save upload bandwidth. Upload speeds are usually much slower for folks too, so this would be really helpful.

    Alternatively, it would be great to do a one-time import of photos from Google Photos, and just be done with it :)

  10. Simple Text only Google Keep Replacement

    I'm looking for a simple, note-taking app to replace Google Keep, ideally with a similar interface. I don't need advanced features like tags initially, just basic note creation and ordering. However, archiving and export functionality would be valuable additions. It could start as text-only.

  11. Improvement in Proton docs and version history

    I love how Proton Docs automatically keeps a version history of every change we make to a document. It would be great to give users the option to set the time interval for creating new versions for example, after each edit, after 1 minute, after 2 minutes, and so on.

    Currently, when I start a new document, each word I type generates a separate version. This quickly becomes overwhelming, making it hard to scroll back to a useful point in the history. While frequent versioning makes sense during focused editing such as correcting a document someone else sent or making deliberate revisions, it feels unnecessary…

  12. Standardise file and folder sorting across apps

    The Proton Drive web app sorts folders in the left-hand file tree lexicographically but sorts files and folders in the right-hand folder content area numerically. Files and folders in the iOS/iPadOS app are sorted lexicographically.

    Let’s assume I have a folder that itself has twenty folders, each named 1 to 20. The web app sorts them as follows in the left-hand folder tree:

    1,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,2,20,3,4,5,6,7,8,9

    However, the web app sorts them as follows in the right-hand folder content area:

    1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20

    This is confusing. The sorting method should be standardised across all areas of all apps. Should that standard be sorting numbers…

  13. Need the ability to add comments to photos in shared albums

    I am using Google Photos to share family albums and I am trying to determine if I can replace Google Photos with Proton Drive (I am a Proton Duo user). One very useful feature for the users I am sharing the albums with is the ability to add comments. In fact, this would be a show-stopper if it is not possible. The reason is that some of the photos are pretty old (scans of standard prints) and lack details.   16. Proton Sheets - Additional Date Formats

    Currently it appears the only possible Date format for Date types in Proton Sheets is mm/dd/yyyy, which is US centric.

    Would appreciate additionally including other date arrangements, perhaps:

    dd/mm/yyyy (Common globally)
    dd/mm/yy
    yyyy/mm/dd (ISO 8601)
    dd/mmm/yyyy

    Would suggest dd/mm/yyyy given that it's arguably the most common format globally and yyyy-mm-dd given that it's the ISO 8601 international standard used heavily in software around the world should be priorities 👍

  17. Preview and open .odt OpenDocument Text files

    Related to being able to export Proton Docs as .odt files (https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932839-proton-drive/suggestions/48607370-proton-docs-download-to-odt-feature), it should be possible to preview and open .odt OpenDocument Text files in Proton Docs. Many people choose OpenDocument files as a free and open source alternative to MS Word and Google Docs files. It’s the default file format in LibreOffice, Nextcloud Office, and Collabora. It’s the option that people turn to when they’re tired of being overcharged by Microsoft to open or write a document. It’d be invaluable to have support in Proton Docs for these files.

  19. Analyze / Sort Files by Size in Proton Drive

    Dear Proton Team,

    I would like to request a feature that allows users to sort and filter files by size across the entire Proton Drive, not just within individual folders. Currently, it is not possible to view the size of folders or to search for large files efficiently across all folders. This feature would greatly improve the user experience by making it easier to manage storage and identify large files quickly.

    Proton Doc has multiple heading levels.
    Should be there a column on left side for the heading outline?

    Since the comment column is already on the right, then the heading column should be on the left then.
