To keep it short, because my previous idea was just deleted:
Please make "always available on this device" the default, or at least configurable, so that I don't have to select "always keep on this device" for every new file on my local system (to make the light green check mark a dark green one).(but why has my previous idea been deleted without any notion while it was a serious effort from my side???)

Would love a .gitignore-like feature for file sync
I’d love to have a gitignore-style ignore file when syncing a folder from a computer. It would make it easy to exclude certain files or subfolders from being synced useful in cases like development folders where some content (temporary files) doesn’t need to be uploaded.
I'm considering moving away from GitHub for my personal projects I’d prefer not to store them there anymore. But right now, I don’t have a better solution that keeps everything in sync while letting me exclude unnecessary files. That’s why a feature like this would really help.

Download progress and cancelation
Hi.
Can we have some notification for downloading files on mobile app (android)?
Like in status bar to see how much is already done and also option to cancel download.Recently i try to get file from drive and it was over 500mb. I get note "download started" in app but i had no idea how fast or how it progress. After few minutes i still had no file in phone and every time i open app it say "download started". Cant even cancel it and had to force quit app.

LaTeX Support within docs
Add LaTeX (or at least KaTeX) support as a formula block, allowing for mathematical formulas to be displayed properly within a doc.

Add a Cheaper/Smaller plan
Add a cheaper and smaller plan for proton Drive for people that do not need as much space but want to pay for the service to help with the privacy mission. Maybe a dollar a month for 30GB or 50GB to compete with a similar option that iCloud offers.

Make Photos visible as a top-level folder in My files
This might be a quick functionality win for a relatively small amount of coding...
From an Android perspective...
(a) Make the photos (files) created and managed by the "Photos" section of Drive visible as a special top level sub-folder of the "My Files" area.
(b) In the "My Files" view enable copying/moving between "Photos" and "My Files".
This keeps these actions in the cloud and allows photos uploaded to Drive "My Files" as files (ie, on android, "shared" with Drive from another app), to be later moved to "Photos". No time take downloading, uploading etc.

Render Photo Captions/Titles from the Photo's metatdata
(a) When viewing the photo gallery, optionally, display the photo's caption/title.
This would have to be done carefully as there are many candidate places in a photo that a "caption" of sorts is stored: jpeg caption, jpeg title, etc..
(b) The ability to edit the "caption" metadata and then modify the source file.
This means that all the effort that goes into captioning photos would not be lost as the edits would "stick" with the photo. If completed, this would make Proton Photos better than any other cloud Photo applications - as all the other store the caption away fro…

Expand Proton Drive Search to Include Trash, PCs, and Mobile Devices
As a Visionary Plan user, I use Proton Drive a lot for storing and managing my files. It would be really helpful if the search feature could be expanded to include:
Trash Folder: Right now, finding deleted files in the Trash is hard because there's no search. Adding search here would make it much easier to recover lost files quickly.

Fix the Photos Sort Order Bug
(NB Photos in browser: android app seems to sort properly.)
I have many photos, mainly jpegs, that pre-date the digital revolution. I have scanned/re-photographed these old photos either from negative or print and have fixed up the "date taken" to correspond with when the original photo was taken. For people with full family collections this is probably not unusual.

I need to know that my changes have been saved before I close out of a document. Like neat little blue or green checkmark in a corner next to the word "Saved". Thanks.

Make docs formatting dropdowns on mobile app more stable
I'm so glad to see more formatting features showing up. On my android, when I go to select a formatting feature, I have to hold down my finger on it and then select it. Otherwise, the dropdown disappears without me being able to select the formatting feature. Thanks.

Fix: When replacing selected text in docs, more text gets deleted than was selected
Maybe it depends on the operating system or browser, but on both my devices (PC and android), I'll select text I don't want anymore. Then I'll type in new text to replace it. But instead of only replacing what I selected, it deletes some extra text that I didn't have selected. So I lose words. If I hit Undo, I might forget the new idea I replaced the old text with. If I don't hit Undo, I forget the words that I didn't want deleted, but which got deleted. This still happens after reinstalling the app and restarting my phone.…

Option to allow/not allow editors, viewers, and commenters to copy or change permissions
I want to know that when I share something, I can make sure it isn't shared or copied and that other people don't change permissions on it without my consent. I think that unlike on Google Docs, the default should be to not allow copying, sharing, and changing permissions. A lot of Google Docs users don't know about the setting and don't know that their work can be shared or used unless they change the setting. Thanks.

Headers, Footers, and Page Number Fields in Docs
The ability to add headers, footers, and page numbers is important for preparing documents to submit to agents, publishers, contests, etc. or as school assignments. Please include the option to make the header and footer the same across all pages, and another option to make them the same across all pages except the first. The page number field needs to be separate, since each page number will be different. Thanks.

First Line Indent in Docs
There's an option to indent an entire paragraph, but there also needs to be an option to indent only the first line and specify the measurement of the indent. Hitting tab is not sufficient, since tab isn't always the correct measurement when you have to meet specific formatting requirements.
Even if tab were consistent, a first line indent option would really speed up the process.

Better icons understanding on Mac (synchro, offline, cloud)
I cant understand icons on my virtual proton drive on osx, some files have a little cloud with an arrow going down, some have nothing .. for a short time I got all my files with a simple cloud without arrow (meaning everything online?)
Actually everything is synchronized and nothing is on my local drive, so I guess there is some kind of problem with Mac UI ... I only see files and folder with cloud + down arrow or no icons at all.
It would be nice to speed up large amount of little sized files upload too, but…

Set External Drive as main location
My mac is the lowest spec but because of the speed of M processors it runs all my software for work better than any PC i've ever had. The cost of having a massive storage space inside my Mac is the reason I cannot use Proton Drive at the moment. I have 1TB external SSD which is my Dropbox location, if I could set Proton Drive to my external SSD as the main folder my life would instantly be better. I actually love how Proton Drive functions and am desperate to get out of the chaotic Dropbox ecosystem. Please explore…
