Allow Proton Drive to use my smartphone's office app
Other drives like Onedrive and Google Drive give the option to use the smartphone's own office apps to open documents, spreadsheets, slides, etc...
I really miss that as I cannot open my sheets, for example, unless I download them. And if I make a change in them, then I have to upload it to the Proton Drive afterwards.
Sorry, but just to be clear. In those other drives like Onedrive, you do not need to download the sheet in other to open it and if you edit the sheet, then Onedrive automatically replace the older version as you save the…5 votes -

Search synced photos from the drive app
When you sync photos from your mobile device, you cannot view these photos. In the web interface, you can.

Priority Downloads
Similar to when updating an application on IOS it would be great when I'm already downloading multiple files at once I can select one to prioritize in the download queue.
On example use case is the user is downloading their music library or photos but needs access to a critical document quickly but it is stuck at the end of the download queue. You just have to wait until all the other files are finished downloading before you can access that document.

Cloud Media Settings on Android
You can configure cloud media settings on Android.
Here you can specify which cloud media should be displayed when an app or website asks you to select photos or videos.
Google Photos is listed here by default. However, you can also change it to "None."
It would be great if Proton Drive appeared here as well.

Proton Docs: Virtual Collection or Notebook
In the Proton Docs app, enable users to add docs to collections. A collection ...
(1) ... provides a list view of all its docs (irrespective of their actual location within the Drive folder structure), and
(2) ... can be opened and edited in a single browser tab, e.g. by displaying each doc as a page (creating something like a notebook).Use case:
I maintain individual 'Overview' documents for topics such as: bank accounts, various insurances, summer holiday each year, etc.

Application folder with an API
Have something similar to the Apps folder on Onedrive. Where Proton Drive has an API for applications that can automatically sync to. But by only having the applications folder have an API it keeps the rest of the Drive secure.

pdf reader improvement
If a link is to a pdf and so opens in a pdf reader embeded in a proton page, I can click the Download button and the file will download with the proper file title. However within the reader is a download arrow. If you were to click on that to download the file the file name is a garbled number and letter sequence. I've tried this with another cloud drive service which the process looks nearly identical except that clicking the download arrow retains the file name. It is a security flaw to have to make a share document link public without being able to set the password and expiration date first. This is a very important feature for your privacy-focused target audience, so it doesn't make sense to hide it in the settings and FORCE the user to make their private data public during the set up phase. It should be on the share screen and very obvious. In fact, you can make a whole separate option so that it is mutually exclusive with the publically accessible link toggle.

The file viewer adjustable width to fit the window to make the text more readable
When you view a .txt file in a ProtonDrive (meaning when for example someone access it via public sharing link), it is better readable if the lines are not too wide (as it is currently), but when the .txt file contains for example a code or a log entries, then the too narrow viewer makes the file very hard to read, so you end up sharing such files using different service than Proton (which is bad).
I think that the width should be adjustable and by default made wider to fit/fill whole window. I am using Firefox browser.

Virtual Machine Disk Space
With the terabytes of storage you have given me going unused it would be useful to have a proton run virtual platform that allows me to utilize and format some of that as disk space allocatable to virtual machines for remote mounting.
