Photos and videos, albums - Slideshow, preloading, without trans effect, direction
With preloading so that the next photo is displayed in full.
Without transition effects, making it easy on the eyes and allowing the photo or video to be seen immediately.
Option to choose the order so that it is not from newest to oldest, but as the photos were taken.
The order could be based on the order of photos in the album, but currently it is not possible to set an order other than newest to oldest in albums, which is usually the opposite of what is desired.5 votes -
Be able to sweep between images in Proton Drive mobile App
This is about Proton Drive mobile App (iOs in my case).
Currently if there are several images in the folder, I have to open an image, then close it, then open another, etc.
I would like to be able to sweep directly between the images in the folder. It would be a more fluent experience :)

Low Resolution Place Holders For Photos On Phone
I don't know how feasible this is, but I would love to leave iCloud photo backup entirely for PD, but iCloud allows me to offload all photos and videos into the cloud leaving behind a low resolution thumbnail placeholder so I can still look through all my photos, while still saving memory. Its a life saver for phone storage, but also very useful as I want access to all my photos. Can this be done!? I would contend one of the most prominent reasons why people resort to photo backups is to save space!

Sanitize Shared Photos
It would be nice to be able to optionally sanitize photos I share with someone. I do want my own photos to include the full metadata available, and sometimes I do want to share that with someone. But sometimes I want to share a photo with someone and I want to know they are not holding onto all the metadata my phone included with it. So it would be nice if sharing photos with someone also had an option to share a version of that photo that has the metadata sanitized.

Student Discount Options for Proton Duo
The student discount options are very generous but I need more than 500gb. A student discount for Proton Duo would be nice, or an opportunity to purchase Proton Unlimited and expand your cloud service to 1 tb or more.

Linking cloud folders directly.
Can we not just share a link of the folder in Onedrive and the servers download from one another? Why do we have to download to our own computer first? It takes more energy globally, adding heat as well as stealing our time in our off days. Efficiency is not there.

could you add distraction free writing in docs? Google Docs has this option, would love to have it here. Full screen writing would be a big plus.

See backup status of uploaded documents
I think it would be nice to see the upload status/percentage for each file as it’s being uploaded. This is especially helpful when adding a folder as a backup in the “My Computer” tab or when uploading large swaths of files.

Delete Multiple Pre-Selected Items in Trash without Deleting Everything.
Allow CTRL+Click and Shift+Click to select individual items and/or a range of items. Then click the Trash Can Icon (currently not there!) to delete only the selected items and keep the rest.

That would be great to be able to have the same file in multiple positions on protondrive.
I've may folder with all my documents and I had to share something with the housing agency.

Use AI to auto identify and auto organize photos
Use AI to auto tag, auto name and/or auto organize photos. For example allow me to tag or identify each of my family members and then have an auto name feature to rename the photos to include their names or tags. Ex Sally Suzie John in Rome Italy trip (1 2 3 etc)

Search should find folders in addition to files
When searching proton drive, it doesn't appear to find folders with the search word in the folder name. It would be better if search found folders as well. Its common to have downloads with unmemorable names grouped in a folder with a memorable name. If search doesn't find the folder, it can be very difficult to find the desired files.

Secure IoT Data Vault (EV, Smart Devices & Personal Data)
Please consider adding a secure IoT data vault in Proton Drive. Right now, data from EVs, smart home devices, and wearables is mostly locked inside manufacturer apps or stored on third-party servers, with very little real user control.
It would be extremely valuable to have a dedicated, end-to-end encrypted space to store things like EV battery reports, charging history, device logs, and ownership records.
This kind of data is becoming as sensitive as financial or health information, and users should be able to fully own and back it up privately.
Proton is in a perfect position to solve this—privacy shouldn’t…

Photo caption or description
Add ability to add a description or a caption as a separate piece of metadata for a photo. Possibly it could be part of Album metadata. The lack of this feature prevents me from migrating multiple albums from Google Photos.
There are some suggestions to display captions or descriptions from EXIF stored with photos. Doing it that way would change the modified by date etc if a user wanted to change those; also updates would require de-encryption/re-encryption, adding challenges to de-duping and burdening the user flow.
