  3. Proton Photos

    basically Google photos, but better because it's encrypted.

    As in, a mobile app for backing up and organizing phone photos.

    Maybe we could pay a monthly fee for access to Photos, Drive, and VPN service. I'd much rather support an independent company than Google

  4. Proton Drive Integration with Android Default Storage

    I haven't yet found a way to set Proton Drive as a default storage location on Android within the "My Files" functionality which drives selectable save options for most file save actions. Obviously, Google Drive is available along with MS OneDrive, internal storage, SD storage and network storage. Having Proton Drive set here would make file management much easier on Android mobile.

  5. Sync Photos folder with desktop app

    With the Android app we can now backup our photos to the Photos category/folder in Proton Drive and we can view these in the web app.

    Please add the option to sync these photos to a computer folder with the
    desktop app as well.

  6. More storage options

    Please offer an option to upgrade storage capacity without having to upgrade to the Visionary level. I would like more storage but I do not need additional users or addresses or domains.

  7. Proton Docs Improvements

    The ability to have a non-pageless design, a ruler, line spacing so it can be used for academic papers (think double space, 1.15, 1.5, etc...), ability to open PDFs in Proton Docs, word count, and the paint format feature. Also, please add the ability for the mobile versions of Proton Drive to edit Proton Docs in the app or a separate Proton Doc app. I love Proton Docs though it's amazing and the UI is beautiful.

  8. Synology NAS Cloud Sync

    I miss the capability to connect my ProtonDrive with my Synology NAS by CloudSync or Hyper Backup. This would be one of the last disadvantages compared to conventional cloud providers

    It would be amazing to have an API (like https://developers.google.com/drive/api/v3/about-sdk) to be able to make scripts that could automate uploading important files to ProtonDrive using a language like Python or similar.

  12. Shared photo library

    As a family, we love the Google Photos feature of having a shared photo library that syncs instantly from our Android phones. Proton Drive should implement more of these Google Photos features, but with encryption. We need this joint photo sharing feature on Android for our photo libraries. We do not want to choose albums each time again, but an automatic sync feature among partners.

  13. Offline editing support for Documents in Proton Drive

    Just like Google Docs supports offline mode, please make it possible for me to edit Documents in Proton Drive even when I'm offline or when I have very limited Internet connection.

  14. Proton Docs download to .odt feature

    Besides .docx, many of us who use Linux and free/open-source software like LibreOffice Writer sometimes use .odt instead. It would be wonderful to have a direct export/download to .odt within Proton Docs

  15. ProtonDrive Bridge

    With ProtonDrive, it would be nice if similar to how ProtonMail establishes a local mail server, if for ProtonDrive the bridge provided a local file server (WebDAV, etc.).

    I'd expect the bridge to handle encryption/decryption and then could easily integrate the drive into any local file manager, etc.

  16. Add Shared Folders to Proton Drive Sync

    My wife and I fully utilize the Proton sharing features across the platform. We share files in Proton Drive, but the biggest gap for us is not being able to sync shared folders/files (using Proton Drive Sync for MacOS). The only way we can access the files that have been shared is through the Proton Drive web application.

    Why is it so important that we be able to sync using MacOS?

    Because we heavily utilize the MacOS Spotlight feature to find specific files that contain specific search terms in the body of the document. For reasons we understand, this feature…

  17. Exclude folders/files

    Thank you for the desktop application, it was necessary and I am very satisfied, excellent job. On the other hand, it would be very useful to have the ability to exclude files/folders, either by selecting them or using a regular expression. For example, excluding folders like 'node_modules'.

  18. Show sync progress

    The desktop app could show the sync progress (files synced/total files to be synced) in the Activity tab. That would make it easier to guess how long it might take for the whole syncing process to get completed.

  20. Make photos searchable in Photos Section

    Some recommended sorting axes:

    Date (by year, by month, by day)
    File Extension
    File Name (not as helpful as the previous 2)

    Other EXIF data (not necessary but would be nifty!)

    Location
    Camera Type

    I've recently moved all my photos from OneDrive over to ProtonDrive using the Photos section. I have thousands of photos since 2010 and it would be extremely helpful to be able to sort through my photos in some way. Even just a bar on the side of the photos when scrolling, so you can skip to a certain year or month. But ideally a search bar…
