How can we improve Proton Drive?

  1. When will we be able to access proton drive via IOS app?

    When will we be able to access our files from the app? We are paying for proton drive but can't access our files on mobile devices via the app.

  2. Allow share link (with password option) for an entire folder

    Allow the option to send a share link (with appropriate options for password protection, etc) of an entire folder ... not just a single document as is currently available. In the physical security/investigations space, an alternative to dropbox is urgently necessary for sharing files, reports, etc with clients.

  3. Work with GNOME developers to have Proton Account as an option in Online Accounts

    Linux GNOME Desktop has an Online Account integration. So if you add Google Account it integrates into the GNOME Calendar, Into your Mail Application (i.e. Evolution ) and also maps/mounts the Google Drive into the File Manager. Proton now has the same suite of products so Proton Account should be one of the options.

  4. It would be great to be able to backup mobile SMS / text messages and Signal and Whatsapp messages automatically to Proton Drive

    SMS messages can only be backed up to Samsung cloud on mobile (presume different clouds for different manufacturers) and I would like to be able to automatically backup / archive SMS, Signal and Whatsapp messages to Proton Drive so that I don't have to rely on multiple and less secure backup cloud options.

  6. file sharing between proton users in a single proton drive

    is it possible to enable other proton drive users to access folders and file with a permission by the drive owner ?

  7. ProtonDrive: add versioning support

    Sometimes it is annoying that new files uploaded with the name of an already existing file will get a parenthesed number in their filenames. It would be much more comfortable to have a versioning (and/or overwriting) function, that preserves the original name.

  8. Hashtags for ProtonDrive files

    The ability to add one or multiple hashtags to a file would make organization and searching your files much easier.

    For example, if a user has a library of food pictures/recipes, they could search or filter their library for one or multiple tags such as #Vegetarian, #30MinuteMeal, #BBQ, or #Garlic

  9. Previewing video files in shared links without download

    When sharing a link to a video file, the end user should be able to start a preview within their web browser of the content without having to fully download the file to their computer.

  10. Proton Drive Business -- share folders with team to collaborate

    Proton Drive for Business needs a way for my team to collaborate on files. As it stands, my team members cannot access any of the files that I upload. This is a major pitfall.

    As the administrator, I should be able to set up specific folders for my team to be able to share. We should all be able to access these folders in our respective drive accounts to upload or remove files.

    These shared folders should also still support link sharing.

    We are a team of genealogists, so we would greatly benefit in being able to collaborate on folders,…

  11. Simple text editor

    It would be extremely useful to have an extremely bare-bones native text editor built into proton drive for updating the contents of .txt files.

    This would help avoid the following scenario:
    downloading the secure file, editing and saving the file, uploading the file, then having to clean up any local data cached during that process.

  12. Protondrive sharing - invite functionality

    I need to replace tresorit with protondrive.
    To do this, I need to be able to have a local folder that is synced to protondrive
    AND when I invite others to this shared protondrive folder, they can, via web access:
    -- download files from the shared protondrive folder
    -- AND ADD files to the shared protondrive folder

    Without this, I cannot use protondrive.

  13. Selective syncing of files for Mac/Linux/Windows

    Actual syncing of files is so important, that I was considering to upgrade my plan today for getting 500GB storage. But then I realized that ProtonDrive doesn't sync files, and that it works with manual upload/download only, so it wouldn't be useful for me, and so I'll wait rather than upgrade now.

    I work with Mac, Linux, and Windows computers, so I need to sync across them.

    Also note that I said "selective syncing". It would be highly desirable that if you have 200GB of files and you start working with a computer you didn't sync yet, this doesn't trigger…

    Hello,
    ProtonDrive is great news. However, are you developing tools to directly open and work with .docx and xlsx files such as Google Drive and its Google Sheets?

  15. Be able to transfer files from Google Drive to Proton Drive

    It would Realty help to add a feature Thac would let us transfer files from google drive to proton drive.
    At thaï time on IPAD, i can only sélect files from iCloud or pictures files...

  18. Sync Google Drive and Photos to Proton

    Any docs/pictures on the Google service need to be automatically transferred over to Proton. This keeps a seemless experience on the device, while not retaining (long term) data with Google.

    Allow an app to manage files in Proton Drive but also an option to automatically backup the photos and videos on your phone as well.

  20. Ability to attach files from proton drive to email

    Currently it seems one can attach files only from the computer.
    Would be convenient if the attach button could give access to proton drive folders/files.
