Async changing folder
When a user move multiple documents to another folders, the user needs to wait until all documents are moved wich can tak more then 30 seconds.
As a user I want to wait inder the 3 seconds when moveing document to another folder. Is it possible to do a Async request of changing folders so that the user can continu using the app?

Inboxes
Maybe this does exist already and I just can't find how to enable it. I'd like to be able to share a folder with other people to which they can only write. It could just be an additional folder access control setting on top of editor and viewer. The use case I am thinking of is secure remote logging, specifically for scripts used by multisig wallet signers.

One Click Only To Open PD Items On Phone
It currently takes two clicks to open photos and PDFs in the PD phone app. The first click is the download and the second click is the decryption. I think it’s fair to assume a user that clicks on an item wants to open it, so all processes involved in the opening of that file should be accomplished with a single click.

Add delay + alert after failed password attempts on shared links
Problem description:
When sharing a file or folder with a password, there's currently no rate limiting – anyone can keep guessing the password without any delay.
Proposed solution:
I’d suggest two improvements:
Introduce a delay or cooldown after a few failed password attempts (e.g. 10–30 seconds after 3 wrong tries, or temporary lockout after repeated failures).
Send a notification (email or in-app) to the file owner when there are multiple failed access attempts. This would help users detect suspicious activity early.
These changes would greatly improve the security of password-protected shared content.

Proton drive mobile application for Mac
It would be nice if on Macs with apple silicon you could install the proton drive app directly from the app store. I am writing this because the current Mac app is completely different from the mobile app and I don't like the way it works. I prefer the app designed for mobile (iPad) and use it on Mac without having to use external apps for forced compatibility

Enable option to untar/decompress tar[.gz] archives
Uploading a lot of files is not efficient. At least in my experience, it might take days to upload 10K+ small files distributed in multiple directories.
Would it be possible to allow the user to decompress/untar uploaded single/multiple
.tararchives ? This might help uploading data faster (multiple files in a tar archive). Implied is I guess an increased file size limit.3 votes -
Add a Cheaper/Smaller plan
Add a cheaper and smaller plan for proton Drive for people that do not need as much space but want to pay for the service to help with the privacy mission. Maybe a dollar a month for 30GB or 50GB to compete with a similar option that iCloud offers.

Option to allow/not allow editors, viewers, and commenters to copy or change permissions
I want to know that when I share something, I can make sure it isn't shared or copied and that other people don't change permissions on it without my consent. I think that unlike on Google Docs, the default should be to not allow copying, sharing, and changing permissions. A lot of Google Docs users don't know about the setting and don't know that their work can be shared or used unless they change the setting. Thanks.

Option to Opt-In for File Recovery Without Recovery Key
I would like to propose an idea for an option that allows users to opt-in for the recovery of previously encrypted files without needing a recovery key, similar to features available in services like Google Drive and OneDrive. This is especially helpful for users who may have lost their recovery key or forgotten their password.

Proton Docs / Sheets - Microsoft Format compatibility mode
I’d like to request Microsoft Office format compatibility for Proton Docs and Sheets.
At the moment, I’ve migrated most of my files to Proton Drive, but I still need to keep all my .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx files in Google Drive because Proton does not yet support them natively. Since I work across multiple systems, I rely on these universal file formats for seamless collaboration and interoperability.
It would be extremely valuable to have:
- A compatibility mode similar to Google Docs/Sheets for handling Microsoft formats

Separate photos taken by camera
Right now, after making proton drive sync all my photos from my phone, I can either view photos and screenshots, or only screenshots. There is no "only pictures taken by you" option, or at least an "everything else" option.

[Proton Business] Intergrate Proton Groups with Proton Drive
Proton Groups (https://proton.me/support/groups) should be integrated with Proton Drive, and allow for the creation of shared sub-drive or folders.
That is, if I have a group "Team" with several members, that Team should be able to have access to a common drive (with an allocated space from the organisation, not taped into individuals space). This would simplify access to said sub-drive while Team x is evolving.
This is a functionality that currently exists in Google Workspace, and should be available for Proton Business too.

When currently editing a document when you have many documents open, it would be handy if I knew the location open document
I am a YouTube creator, and I often have many documents open at once, and sometimes I don't recall what folder the document I'm working on is in. It would be very help full if you could include the folder structure location of any document I'm working with. For example: Production\Voiceovers\ or Product\Scripts or Production\Premiere Pro\AI Prompts\Scripts, etc. Signing up for ProtonDrive is one of the Best Decisions I've made, thank you for your work!

Export to xls loses formatting
I have searched and cannot find other comments on this subject.
When I download sheets to xls, I get an error when trying to open with MS Office 2024 (stand alone) and all formatting is lost: column widths, bold, etc. are all gone.
It is time-consuming to re-do the formatting in xls - which is the format I need to send the file to others.
I use Proton Sheet because it is a better cloud alternative but losing formatting when downloading is a HUGE problem.

A Shared drive for company use
We have started to use Proton in our company next to Google. As long as it is still not fully functional in the same way we will keep things next to eachother. At least supporting the product development of Proton by having a paid subscription!
A small step in the right direction would be to have proper Shared Drives that are 'company owned' instead of user owned. And where you can jointly keep data stored.

Smart quotation marks
Hey everyone. I want to use proton docs to write fiction in, but they don't currently have smart quotation marks enabled (unless I can't see?! but I have searched for an option). I know you can use Word to change them easily, but I use Libre Office where you can't find and replace them easily, and it'd mean changing every single quote mark by hand. Would love to have smart quotes in proton so I can stop using google drive to draft stories on the go.
