Enable option to untar/decompress tar[.gz] archives
Uploading a lot of files is not efficient. At least in my experience, it might take days to upload 10K+ small files distributed in multiple directories.
Would it be possible to allow the user to decompress/untar uploaded single/multiple
.tararchives ? This might help uploading data faster (multiple files in a tar archive). Implied is I guess an increased file size limit.3 votes -
Option to allow/not allow editors, viewers, and commenters to copy or change permissions
I want to know that when I share something, I can make sure it isn't shared or copied and that other people don't change permissions on it without my consent. I think that unlike on Google Docs, the default should be to not allow copying, sharing, and changing permissions. A lot of Google Docs users don't know about the setting and don't know that their work can be shared or used unless they change the setting. Thanks.

Option to Opt-In for File Recovery Without Recovery Key
I would like to propose an idea for an option that allows users to opt-in for the recovery of previously encrypted files without needing a recovery key, similar to features available in services like Google Drive and OneDrive. This is especially helpful for users who may have lost their recovery key or forgotten their password.

Show Photo Folder in "My Files"
There needs to be a way to see all photos in a list with at least filenames! I am stuck in the web interface so I don't need the slow thumbnail view I need a list so I can find all the "modified" duplicates and delete them.
The reason for this is to list all those _modified duplicate photos that drive created so they can be trashed to save space.

restore multiple deleted files and folders
I would like restore many (deleted and non deleted) files and folders spanning multiple locations, all at once.
For example, this applies in cases where multiple files and folders on a PC have been infected by, say, a virus, and the files in the cloud have also become infected following synchronisation. Entire folders must be restored to a previous version to ensure that the files can be restored to an uninfected state.

Separation of pictures, docs, files and sheets via folder options
You data is encrypted on the device... so now let us decryp everything on the phone, or virtual machine or otherwise....
Point being: option per device to allow or NOT of what to even be loaded. It's not even "to be access" but "it never even shows".
This is very usefull if we want want max control, and max privacy. As in for phone? we can have our proton drive open, unlocked, and if we show someone some pictures from there, they simple can't access, not even realise, that other parts even exist.

Manual sync on Windows
It seems that Proton Drive only syncs documents when the last change value changes, not when the file actually changed, which creates a problem. Windows has this annoying quirk where, if the file size didn't change, it won't update the meta data for the time the document was last saved, so even if you saved 10 times in 10 minutes, if the changes you made summed up to the same file size, Explorer will continue to show the change time as being 10 minutes prior, and the updated file with not be automatically synced. Create specific folder icons on Windows that reflect the synchronisation status of a folder. (Proton Drive Client)
On Windows, when folders are synced using the Proton Drive Client, the folder icon remains the Windows default one. It would be good to have different icons that reflect the status of the synchronisation operations.
For example, on top of the original icon
- Small green mark for "synced"
- Small blue mark for "On-going synchronisation"

as of now, aliases to folders when copied to proton are converted to empty and useless "blank" files,

Improve search and preview in ProtonDrive
The search functionality needs improving within ProtonDrive.
There needs to be a "sort" option where we can sort the files into size for easy deletion. And also the preview capabilities need to be improved. I have no idea what 90% of my videos are without downloading them. Making mass deletion impossible.

Convert three periods to ellipsis
I'd love an option to automatically replace three period characters ("...") with a single ellipsis character ("…"). Other applications I've used do this, so now that I'm moving existing documents over to Proton Drive and making edits, they're no longer internally consistent.
