2. [Proton Drive – Photos Web] Do not redirect user to album after adding photo(s)

   Current Behavior:
   When adding one or more photos to an album via the Proton Drive Photos web interface, the user is automatically redirected to the destination album.

   Expected Behavior:
   The user should remain in the Photos view after adding photo(s) to an album, consistent with the behavior already implemented in the mobile apps (at least iOS, I didn't check the Android on).

   Problem Statement:
   This redirect creates significant friction when organizing photos spread across a long time period. For each add action, the user is forced to:
   - Get redirected to the album
   - Click "Back"
   - Navigate back to the "Photos" view
   - Scroll back to their previous position — which can be particularly tedious with large libraries, even with the month selector sidebar.

   This turns a bulk organization task into a highly repetitive and time-consuming process.

   Proposed Solution:
   Remove the automatic redirect on the web interface, keeping the user in the Photos view at their current scroll position after adding photo(s) to an album. Optionally, display a brief confirmation toast notification (e.g. "Added to [Album Name]") as feedback.

   Low effort, high UX impact, and the expected behavior already exists on mobile.

3. local album to proton album

   The new Albums are awesome, however having to manage albums in my phone gallery and proton manually is a major design flaw. Please make it so one can sync specific local folders to proton-folders automatically, so they can be shared. 4. Add “Date taken” sorting for photos in Proton Drive folders

   When storing photos in regular Proton Drive folders, there is currently no useful way to sort them chronologically by the date the photo was taken.

   Sorting by “Last modified” does not provide the correct chronological order, especially for photos exported from Apple Photos or imported from other sources.

   Suggestion:
   Add a “Date taken” sorting option for folders containing photos, based on the photo’s EXIF/metadata when available.

   This would make Proton Drive folders much more useful as a simple photo archive, without requiring users to use Proton Photos.

   For files without a valid date-taken value, Proton Drive could fall back to the file creation or modification date.

6. Simple finename search

   Currently so search files within ProtonDrive (web) you need to index the entire drive content, which can take a long time.
   I understand that local indexing is necessary for zero-access reasons.

   It would be nice to have a simpler search (only on filenames and metadata?) that could be ready in a fraction of the time.
   Searching within files content is good, but sometimes having a quick name or date search is all you need.

7. Allow hiding the user email in Proton Docs to avoid leaking personal data

   When sharing a document created in Proton Drive with another person, if the Proton user makes a comment, the original email of the account e.g., user@protonmail.com is leaked. This is a problem in my view, particularly when an inbox has multiple aliases and domains and the user does not want to leak their personal Proton email. Please allow users to hide this information altogether when sharing documents or at least choose which alias to display. Thanks.

8. Improve Downloading and uploading speed

   i know that proton drive has robust security and i think that is why probably the download and uploading speed is very slow compared to other solutions like mega. Proton Drive would be top notch with a more robust server speed. i think that 50 MB/s would be very good starting point for example.

10. Search should find folders in addition to files

    When searching proton drive, it doesn't appear to find folders with the search word in the folder name. It would be better if search found folders as well. Its common to have downloads with unmemorable names grouped in a folder with a memorable name. If search doesn't find the folder, it can be very difficult to find the desired files.

11. Ordering of Photo Albums and Creation of sub-Albums

    In Proton Drive's Photos, please make it possible to order user-created Albums and to create sub-albums. Minimally, the albums should order by file name. As things stand, the user has no control over the order in which albums appear. It should also be possible to display them as a file list (not large icons). Use Apple's Photos as a model. I'm keen to abandon Apple's app (and all its irritating facial recognition and fake nostalgia), but no way, not until have have more control over my albums. Thank you

12. Add photo to album without opening the album

    Currently, when I select photos and then add them to an album, this album is opened. So, when I want to add further photos to the album, I need to go all the way back to the photo overview and find the place I left. It would be great if there was an option to add photos to an album while staying exactly where one is in the photo library.

13. Basic Highlighting!

    The highlighting feature as-is is very limited: why can't I just choose the background color and the text color separately? I would literally like to "highlight" a section of text in yellow, and I can't just pick black text with yellow background. Please allow more basic options or basic flexibility, instead of only a certain pre-built text / color combinations. Thanks!

14. Share file, but don't allow download or screenshot

    Changes to the share file in proton drive that allows people to view, but not download a file to retain ownership of data but allow others to verify.

    Could be useful when sharing identity documents, contracts etc, but you don't necessarily want others to keep a copy of the data.

    Would also be nice to use some form of browser DRM protection to prevent screenshots as well.

15. Locally available downloads for Android

    If you download a file locally on drive with an Android, it's still not available in the file structure, so I can't use it to sync local or custom apps. I'd like to be able to have it visible in the file structure so that I can.

    Allow users to re-order conditional formatting rules in Proton Sheets (Eg drag bottom rule up to the second top position.) This matters because rules apply on a hierarchical basis so top rules are applied before the bottom ones.

19. Add CTRL + SHIFT + Z for redo

    In docs the default keyboard shortcut for redo is CTRL + Y. Which is fine but most software also support the CTRL + SHIFT + Z keyboard shortcut.

    I would like to be able to configure this or that both keyboard shortcuts are supported for the redo action.

20. Open folders with just one click (browser)

    In the webbrowser, you currently need to double-click in order to open a folder, single-clicking only selects the folder. I'm a 30yo digital native and find this unintitive for browser-behaviour, especially since the selecting-functionality already exists in form of the checkboxes that appear when hovering, and I have witnessed many older folks taking a lot of time to figure out how to open a folder because of this. So I suggest getting rid of this second selecting-functionality, and open folders with just one click.

    (I'm aware Google Drive has the same behaviour, Dropbox and OneDrive don't and I find it much more intuitive and practical)
