Basic and Advanced Word Processing Functionality, rulers, formatting, menu bar, etc.
The word processor is a cornerstone to any productivity or office suite of apps. Please add basic features like rulers, standardized consistent tab settings, paragraph/line spacing/other formatting features, ability to visualize formatting characters (eg: paragraph, indent, etc...) menu bar with functions that have been around for decades, etc.. Just look at Word Processor functions that have been around for decades and implement them in a standardized yet functionally designed way. (do not copy google docs, that is a horrible example)
This is a place Proton can excel and even take over market share as a collaborative document app because Google…

Mutual proton drive
I have a Proton Duo subscription shared with my wife, and I’d like to know if it’s possible to have a single, mutual Proton Drive that both of us can access and manage — rather than using shared folders between two separate Drives.
In other words, can we have a truly common Drive space for both accounts within the Duo plan, where we both have equal ownership and access rights?44 votes -
Scheduled Photo Backup: Let users choose WHEN to upload, not just IF
The problem:
Proton Drive currently backs up photos the moment they are taken (when on Wi-Fi). This sounds convenient, but in practice it creates a real issue: photos you take and delete within minutes — screenshots, temporary reminders, blurry shots — all get permanently backed up to the cloud before you have a chance to review them. For privacy-conscious users (which is exactly Proton's audience), this is counterproductive. You end up with a cluttered photo library full of junk you never intended to keep permanently.
The request:
Add a scheduled backup option in Settings → Photo Backup, with choices such…11 votes -

While in album: option to delete photo from album OR from drive.
It's much more convenient to select a photo in an album instead of in your complete photo collection.
So while selecting a photo in an album give te option to delete from album or delete completely.73 votes -
Add on-device OCR to Proton Drive document scanning for searchable PDFs
Proton Drive offers document scanning, but the resulting PDFs are image-only without embedded text. This makes scanned documents (leases, medical records, IDs, receipts) unsearchable and inaccessible via text selection or Proton Drive's search functionality.
Why This Matters
Users need to find specific content across their document archive without manual review of each file. Without OCR, workflows like locating a lease clause, extracting an address from an ID, or finding a prescription date require opening and reading each scanned document individually.
Proposed Solution
Add on-device OCR capability to Proton Drive's document scanner that:
1. Processes scanned pages locally using zero-access encryption…5 votes -
Proton Photos - Web - Hide photos in marked albums from main view
I use my "main" photos view as a way to scroll back through the memories of my life.
Some pictures, like screenshots of things or photos of receipts or "private" photos, I do not want to see these in my main list. They clutter this view and make it ugly.
I propose adding a "Hide these photos from the main view" checkbox to albums, that hides photos in these albums from the main view once they are added to it. This would allow my main view of photos to stay clean.
Additionally, hiding these from the main view would make…

Proton sheets - in cell formatting
Would be great if it would be possible to apply different formatting to words in cells. For example, a cell currently is either bold or not-bold. There's not way to accentuate a few words in the cell by making those bold while leaving the rest not-bold. I assume the same applies to other formatting options.

local album to proton album
The new Albums are awesome, however having to manage albums in my phone gallery and proton manually is a major design flaw. Please make it so one can sync specific local folders to proton-folders automatically, so they can be shared. This slightly cuts into this: https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932839-proton-drive/suggestions/49920087-shared-photo-library

Mobile app photos should be viewable in the proton drive desktop app
Currently the only way to see files backed up from a mobile app is to open up the proton drive web app. This is incredibly cumbersome and there should be a section in the proton drive desktop app where we can access those photos.

Delete current photo in the web app
Add a "Delete" button to the single photo view in the Proton Drive web app.
If I have several similar photos and want to keep just one of them and delete all others, I need to close the current photo, find it again in the photo list view (which can be a hard task if the photos are very similar) and delete it from there instead of just clicking "Delete" for the specific photo.

Lumo API Compatible with Hermes Agent
I use Lumo all the time, and want to start using agents. Running LLMs locally takes too much hardware, but do not want to use other LLMs do to privacy issues. I would easily pay for a higher subscription of Proton if I could connect my local agents running on an Umbrel to an API of my Lumo

Add photo's on our computers/ desktop apps
It would be great if we could view and organize photos on our computers/Windows (and other operating systems), using desktop apps. This would allow us to quickly view, reorganize, and use photos (taken with our phone) on our computers. For example, to create photo albums, presentations, slide show's, add them to mail or photo reports on existing situations, and so on.

Search should find folders in addition to files
When searching proton drive, it doesn't appear to find folders with the search word in the folder name. It would be better if search found folders as well. Its common to have downloads with unmemorable names grouped in a folder with a memorable name. If search doesn't find the folder, it can be very difficult to find the desired files.
