How can we improve Proton Calendar?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.

  1. Enable a way to identify a calendar containing events

    I want to reassign and update/edit all the events that I brought over from my old Yahoo calendar. I THINK I have updated them all, but I am not 100% sure. How can I tell if that calendar is now empty (before I delete it)?

  2. HEX / RBG Calendar Colours

    Right now, we can choose the colour of a calendar from a couple of colours. I would love if we could input our own hex code to really make the calendars our own.

  4. Import Google Meet details from Google Calendar

    Google Calendar events may have (proprietary?) meeting details, in my case specifically about Google Meet, that currently seem not get imported.

  5. Yearly View

    Personally it’s easier to navigate through months with a yearly view. For example if I have a trip planned in May 2025, I need to scroll through 14 months to view the details of the event I made.

  6. Creating a new event on mobile by clicking and dragging on the calendar

    Hi Proton team,
    Due to the nature of mobile or tablet being touch screen, I usually find myself setting a calendar invite directly on the calendar at the time I want it using my finger to click and drag down. This would be a great feature to add.

    Right now it's possible to use the button to create a new event, but it always adds it to the day I'm viewing, and the time I'm creating the invite. E.g., if it's 8p on Jan 13th today, and I want to create an event on Feb 1st at 3p. It opens…

  7. Search longer than 1 month ago

    Now, the search engine only displays results from the last ONE MONTH... Please make it possible to search for all my events, without any time limit.

  8. Add a dublicate button for calendar events on android

    I'd like to dublicate existing calendar events on the android app and edit just a few parameters of the dublicated event. Currently this is only possible on the web app. On the android app I have to manually create new events every single time and enter all parameters again, which is quite annoying.

  9. Show more events per day in month view on iOS

    Month view on iOS on smaller phones (iPhone 8) now only allows to display two events for each day.
    Google Calendar, in comparison, shows up to four, which is much more practical.

    The month view should be optimized for practicality:
    - the day numbers and its margins are unnecessarily large. They should be reduced to a minimum.
    - the space at the top of the screen can be optimized as well. There's quite a large gap between the name of the month and the actual calendar grid. This blank space should be minimized so that the space for events is…

  10. Faster access to one day event notification (drop down or set default)

    Add One Day to the drop down for event notifications. A notification on the day before is the most common needed, yet it is missing from the choices… and making a custom one each time is a time killer.

  11. Suggestions based on previous events

    When creating a new event, I would like to have suggestions based on previous created events. That should include Title, Colour, Notifications and all the other things you can add to the event.

    I currently use the Samsung Calendar application (where this feature already exists) and maybe I will move to the Proton one if they implement this. It's such convenient.

    I would like to set default notifications for each calendar in the mobile app (already exists in web application).

  13. Clone event between calendars

    When I set private event (i.e. doctors appointment) in private calendar A, I would find very helpful an optional checkbox that copies just the time frame of that event to calendar B, public or private.
    Weather to copy the details could be a checkbox option as well.

  15. Open event location on mapping site/app (google, apple, open street maps)

    Currently, the location icon and address data in a Proton Calendar appt. does nothing. It would be nice if clicking on it would open a map program such as Google Maps to get directions to appt.

  19. Allow line breaks in the Description field of a calendar entry in the iOS app

    On both mobile and desktop the web interface of Proton Calendar allows the Description field of a calendar entry to have multiple lines. In the iOS version of the Proton Calendar app the Return button does not appear on the on-screen keyboard when editing the Description, preventing the user from entering line breaks. The iOS app does allow a user to view multi-line text that has been entered using the web interface.
