1. Include Standard Notes with Proton Subscription

   Since Standard Notes (SN) is part of Proton, it should really be included in subscriptions, at least the unlimited plan. (For an "unlimited" subscription, there seems to be a growing list of limitations; first it didn't include SN, now it also doesn't include Lumo AI.) In Standard Notes' 2025 update (https://standardnotes.com/blog/2025-update), they said:

   What has changed since we joined Proton is our capacity. Being part of the Proton family means we can draw on the resources of a larger organization...

   Why is Proton spending money and/or time improving another service that doesn't benefit its own users? It's strange that a proudly community-funded company is giving community funds to SN without any benefit to the community. A good notes app is missing from the Proton ecosystem, and I can't justify spending another $120 a year on SN to supplement a $288 a year subscription to Proton, especially when some of the money I've given to Proton is already going to SN!

2. Proton Journal

   I was thinking about something just now: there doesn’t seem to be any open-source, end-to-end encrypted software for keeping a journal. In my research, apart from a few self-hosted projects, I couldn’t find an open-source, trustworthy journaling app offered by a company. Apple has an app that looks nice, but it’s closed-source.

   I don’t keep a journal myself, but for people who do, this could be a great idea. I think Proton could consider this and release an end-to-end encrypted Proton Journal. Honestly, it seems sensible and I believe people would use it.

   Feature Request: proton — One CLI for All Proton Services (for Humans & AI Agents)
   Proton's suite of privacy-first services — Mail, Drive, Calendar, VPN, Pass, and Docs — is fragmented across separate apps with no unified programmatic interface. This makes it nearly impossible to automate workflows, build developer tooling, or integrate Proton services into AI agent pipelines.
   The ask is simple: a single, composable command-line interface — proton — that covers all Proton services under one roof.
   Why this matters
   Power users want to script their workflows. Developers want to build on top of Proton without reverse-engineering private APIs. AI agents need a stable, structured interface to interact with services on a user's behalf. Right now, none of that is possible in any official, supported way.
   A unified CLI would change that. Imagine: an AI agent that drafts and sends a Proton Mail message, saves an attachment to Proton Drive, and creates a calendar event — all in a single composable pipeline, fully under the user's control.
   Prior art
   Google has done exactly this with the Google Workspace CLI. It's a strong reference point for structure, subcommand design, and machine-readable output (--json, --quiet flags, exit codes).

6. Shared calendar with notifications

   It would be great if there were a shared calendar (e.g., "family") that notified all users of the calendar whenever somebody made a change, addition, or deletion. For example, if I added an appointment to the family calendar, all the other family members would be notified that I added something. Or if a family member changed an appointment, I would receive a notification that the appointment had been changed & by whom.

12. Add a Proton Domains (Registrar): Buy domains directly inside Proton

    Proton should introduce its own domain registration service integrated directly into the Proton ecosystem.

    Currently, users who want to use a custom domain with Proton Mail must purchase a domain from a third-party registrar and manually configure DNS records (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC). While this works, it adds friction. Especially for non-technical users.

    An integrated domain registrar would significantly simplify onboarding by allowing users to purchase a domain and have it automatically configured for Proton Mail. This would reduce setup errors, improve security, and make the experience much more accessible.

    Additionally, it would make it much easier to use custom domains with SimpleLogin.

13. Add Monospace Option to Accessibility Font Family Setting

    The Accessibility font family setting (Settings > Appearance > Accessibility) currently offers a small set of proportional fonts. Adding a monospace option would meaningfully improve phishing resistance for security-conscious users.

    Monospace fonts make homoglyph attacks visible at a glance:
    - rn vs m — clearly two characters in monospace, nearly identical in proportional
    - l vs 1 vs I — distinct glyphs instead of ambiguous strokes
    - Cyrillic а vs Latin a — spacing differences become obvious
    - paypa1.com vs paypal.com — the 1 stands out immediately

    Feature Request:
    Add a "Monospace" option to the existing font family dropdown in Accessibility settings. When selected, apply a monospace font stack to email content rendering (including the message body iframe).

    Benefits:
    - Anti-phishing: Users can visually catch spoofed domains and lookalike characters in sender addresses, URLs, and email bodies
    - Zero new UI surface: Slots into the existing Accessibility font picker — one new option in an existing dropdown
    - Aligns with Proton's identity: Proton already markets itself as the security-first email provider. This is a small feature that reinforces that positioning
    - Accessibility overlap: Monospace fonts also benefit users with dyslexia or visual processing differences, since every character occupies the same width

    Implementation suggestion:
    Add "Monospace" as a new entry in the Accessibility font family dropdown. Apply a standard fallback stack ("SF Mono", "Fira Code", "Source Code Pro", "Cascadia Code", "Consolas", "Liberation Mono", monospace) to the message content iframe when selected. The infrastructure for injecting styles into the content iframe already exists (Proton uses it for dark mode).

14. Native Thunderbird integration for Mail + Calendar (without Bridge)

    Description:

    Thunderbird is one of the most widely used desktop email clients in the open-source ecosystem. Presently, Proton Mail can only be accessed through the Bridge, and Proton Calendar cannot be used at all. This causes several limitations:

    • The Bridge must always be running in the background;
    • There is no native calendar support in Thunderbird;
    • Reliability and performance depend on a proxy layer instead of direct protocols;

    Meanwhile, Mozilla has just merged K-9 into Thunderbird as their official Android app and is developing Thundermail—a new service platform that will offer online mail, documents, spreadsheets, slides, and more. If Proton keeps relying solely on the Bridge, Thunderbird could evolve from a strong integration partner into a direct competitor.

    What is needed:

    • Native IMAP/SMTP support for Proton Mail in Thunderbird (using secure encrypted protocols);
    • Native CalDAV support for Proton Calendar;

    This would provide:

    • A first-class experience without running a separate Bridge process;
    • Proper calendar integration for daily use;
    • A strong position before Thundermail matures into a full office suite;
    • Something Google and Microsoft still do not offer: privacy-first desktop integration;

    Linux support matters:

    A large portion of privacy-focused users run Linux. Full support for major distributions, especially Arch Linux (where bleeding-edge versions of Thunderbird are common), would significantly improve adoption and reliability.

    Why this is important:

    Proton has the opportunity to become the only privacy-centric provider that integrates seamlessly with a mainstream open-source desktop client. Implementing native protocols now would prevent loss of ground later and make Proton the obvious choice for users who prefer desktop applications.

15. Proton ID and age verification

    Proton does great job with offering pseudonymity on the Internet. We need to take it one step further: for users who opt in, reliably verify their identity (maybe for a reasonable fee) and support various standards and protocols to answer questions like is this person an adult, does this person have driving license etc without revealing true identity.

18. Upgrade Proton Meet 1 hour limit for paying subcribers

    Proton Meet is a great service. I think you should consider upgrading the time limit for paid plans to 3 hours. I have no problem with the limit of quantity as I understand you don't want us to make big business with a "semi-free" service but we still are subcribers paying for privacy. 1 hour is too short. Please be a little more generous with your subcribers.

19. [Lumo] Custom bot feature

    I can't find the Proton Lumo below 'Give feedback' on the right column so I'm posting here.

    I'm using bots everyday and find the custom bot feature very important. Just some text config and a name for a custom bot should be nice.

    Sometimes the generic mood of the bot is not so prefered, a custom bot with fixed info to define a personal assistant in owner's style is good to have. The fitting style of language is better for conversation, like a pal, not a stranger.

    Some guys are with such custom bot and free: Gemini Gem, Instagram AI Studio.

    I can't find the Proton Lumo below 'Give feedback' on the right column so I'm posting here.
