How can we improve Proton?

  1. Create a replacement for WickrMe secure messenger

    WickerMe has been ingested by Amazon and will be shutting down their free end user service in 2023. Proton is perfectly positioned to create secure messaging service, available to all platforms just like Wickr, as a paid add on.
    I would HAPPILY pay for a replacement. Please do this as the other options have already been compromised.

  4. Allow search option to exclude results in trash

    Right now there does not appear to be an option when searching emails to exclude items that are already trashed. In order for trashed items to not appear in search results, you must select a specific location. I would greatly benefit from being able to search for items across ProtonMail while excluding items in the trash.

    automatic reply for each different address.

    For example... I have an address that is info@domain.com, so every email that is sent to this address the contact receives an automatic reply immediately

  8. On mobile, replies to plus aliased addresses need to respond using the plus alias.

    Before switching to SimpleLogin, I was using a single "accounts" email address and I was plus aliasing to compartmentalize accounts (accounts+website@mydomain.com). In the browser, responding to any emails sent to one of these plus aliased addresses properly responds using the full plus aliased address (accounts+website@mydomain.com for example). On mobile, however, this behavior is broken: responses use "accounts@mydomain.com" and ignore the plus alias.

    I recently experimented with using a sieve script on existing emails and I noticed that a lot of entries were added to the Spam and block list at https://account.proton.me/u/0/mail/filters#spam

    It was far more than I was willing to manually remove, so I started looking into ways to resend API requests to remove these entries for me.   10. Paid subscribers should get "feedback points" based on the plan

    Currently everyone gets the same 10 feedback points to use. The importance of implementing enhancements for an ultimate or business user are typically much more time sensitive and critical . Only being awarded 10 feedback points is not sufficient!

  11. Encrypted voice or video calls

    A feature that would allow Proton users to voice call each other, this feature would have end to end encryption as well as at rest encryption so that no saved data can be read by anyone except those that are in the call etc.
    Also no one could intercept or otherwise listen into an ongoing call

  14. Let users mark duplicates and have Proton action accordingly

    Currently UserVoice has lots of duplicate ideas posted. While it would be great to have better management of this forum by Proton generally, one way the community could help is to let us mark and connect duplicate posts. So I should be able to mark an idea on UserVoice as "duplicate" and then either select or link multiple examples of that duplicate idea already present on UserVoice. This should make it easier for Proton to then go in to duplicate/merge these ideas on UserVoice, or to mark them as inactive. Salesforce usually closes down a duplicate and leaves a comment…

  15. After disposing of an email, the subsequent adjacent email should be selected

    Currently, after archiving or trashing an email, the top, most recent email is automatically selected. However, this is disruptive to workflow. The subsequent email underneath should always be selected after the current email is disposed of in any way. This would make ProtonMail more in line with polished email interfaces like Microsoft Outlook and others.

  17. Option to hide the Proton Mail Bridge icon from the macOS menu bar

    There should clearly be an option to hide the Proton Mail Bridge icon from the macOS menu bar.

    There is little to no utility in having the icon present in the menu bar at all times. Proton Mail Bridge is arguably a "set it and forget it"-kind of deal.

    It's an option that virtually every macOS app with a menu bar icon has, and I'm guessing it was missed out because it's a functionality that is handled by the OS itself on Windows (being able to hide system tray icons).

  18. email notification unwanted

    Since the update a couple of days ago I have been getting unwanted email received notifications in the form of a window that opens distracting me from my work and requiring I lose track of what I was doing so I can click to make it go away. These email notifications are a bad, bad, bad idea. I do not need them. I do not want them. They make me mad. When I get an email I can see the notification on my Protonmail icon on the toolbar. That is the way I like it.

  19. Ability to Select All in Trash on iPad

    Ability to 'select all message' in trash on iPad in the same way I can on on Mac. I periodically review trash messages some of which I wish to keep in Trash. Current iPad method is either 'Empty Trash' meaning some items I wish left in Trash are deleted or having to individually select an email to read before deleting which is time consuming.

  20. Proton Drive - pdf zoom should also allow dragging image.

    One cannot drag an image around after zooming. One can only zoom out to see the rest of the image, but after zooming, the image cannot be dragged in any direction. Please amend this. Thank you.
