Proton messaging app
I would like to see a proton messaging app which sends and receives end-to-end encrypted messages. Messages should be able to be received on Apple messages or other text messaging platforms. The option would be given to have it appear locked on the recipients end in Apple messages and you can open it with a code. You would also be able to receive messages from any messaging app.
I am aware that there are messaging apps out there but they are a closed system as far as I’m aware.

Include Android APKs in all GitHub releases
For Proton Mail it's already being done:
https://github.com/ProtonMail/proton-mail-android/releasesI'd like to see GitHub releases with attached APKs for all other Android apps as well.
This would be really helpful for people using Obtainium & similar tools.37 votes -

Desktop App Packaged for Arch Linux and Others
I see that there is a desktop app packaged for Debian and Fedora based distros. It would be great to have a desktop app that could be installed directly as an Arch package. Alternatively, a flatpack, AppImage, homebrew package, or some other distro agnostic binary would be useful, too.

VoIP
VoIP
Please begin a VoIP hosting service. If ProtonMail had VoIP that I could use both on my computer and phone, then I would no longer have any use for Google and I could be done once and for all. Even though GVoice is free, it seems their active listening suggests stuff related to my texts and conversations across my devices and it is creepy. I would gladly pay for a service that doesn't do this. Pretty, pretty please! Thank you.35 votes -
Enhanced email formatting features
Proton's email formatting features are too limited for Proton to be the world's leading secure email provider.
I suggest that Proton have at look at Zoho's and Gmail's formatting suites. For example, emails look much better and are more readable when the content area is narrowed and centered on the page (needs "deep" indent feature).
Line spacing and undo features are most valuable, too. These are must have basics.

Better widget for Proton Calendar and more colours
The Proton Calendar widget is quite limited, it would be better something more similar to what apps like Google Calendar or Notion Calendar have. There would also be more variety of colors to customize the events to your liking or at most another color palette

App Tracking Prevention
DuckDuckGo has this great feature where it essentially runs a VPN but it blocks traffic from devices from being sent out. So, when a data tracking engines (e.g., Google, Adobe, Amplitude, Branch Metrics) attempt to send personal data from your device DuckDuckGo blocks it.
If Proton incorporated the same concept into the VPN then it would be an even more effective product!

Open up Lumo
I am not a hater of AI, but the handling of Lumos launch is disastrous to say the least.
Never ever release a product, call it open and then have no code and no information available about it. Basing something upon something open doesn't make it open itself. Saying so is literally lying and is eroding trust.
Neither do we know, what models Lumo uses, nor do we have access to any part of its code right now. It's a giant blackbox.
Please open up the code and training weights, adhering to the OSI definition of open AI.

Lumo connection to Standard Notes
Integration between the two would allow users to quickly summarize, search, and organize their notes using AI, making it easier to find important information, generate to-do lists, and capture insights from long-form text.

Introduction of a Proton Notes app as a secure alternative to Google Notes
Description:
A native note-taking app from Proton would add an important everyday tool to the portfolio while extending Proton's high privacy standards to note management. The app should offer the following core features:Extensive functionality – text notes, checklists, image and file attachments, formatting (bold, italics, bullet points) – in other words, the same level of performance as Google Notes.
Intuitive user interface – quick creation, editing, and organization of notes via swipe gestures, drag-and-drop, and context-sensitive menus.
Integration of “share” services – Users should be able to transfer content from other apps (e.g., Spotify, YouTube, podcasts) directly into a…32 votes -
Proton Messages
When I try to replace my texting app with a FOSS version, I lose some of what I would say are critical features, attaching large files, like/reacts to messages, control over notifications. The dealbreaker to me here is the ability to attch large files. But maybe there's also a way to send encrypted messages using SMS/MMS/RCS?
I'd like a texting app the works over SMS/MMS/RCS and uses proton drive to attach files similar to how Google Messages uses Google Drive to attach files.
The links would need to be public links since its not sent over secure servers, but you…
