Even if you put forward an argument that Linux is not as popular as Mac for a client OS (and there are sometimes stats indicating that is not true), enough people use Linux systems that it is impossible and misleading to claim it is not a major platform. As a paying customer that uses primarily Linux systems, I hope they will hurry up and provide equal support for this major platform.
An error occurred while saving the comment Joshua commentedI love the way Proton approaches things and have been paying for VPN and mail. I used to pay SpiderOak for their cloud backup service, switched to Mega.io, but I would love to move all my backups to Proton. For me to do that, two things are necessary. 1) a Linux client that will automatically backup files from any directory I choose and synchronize between computers. 2) a reasonable fee for 2 - 5 TB of storage that is competitive with Mega or Jotta.

ProtonMail offers encrypted contacts for both web and mobile applications (https://protonmail.com/blog/encrypted-contacts-manager/). Calendar and note functionality will be released in the future.

An error occurred while saving the comment Joshua commentedI'm not sure I'm convinced that this is a direction I'd want to use Proton services for. However, it might be compelling to me if Proton collaborated with CryptPad to provide this functionality. CryptPad is a secure, real time collaborative, online office suite with many good features. It's open source, so the idea of Proton launching a CryptPad instance that is integrated with all the other Proton apps could be useful and would likely bolster that project further. https://cryptpad.org

An error occurred while saving the comment Joshua commentedProton, you're great but it's really hard to understand why this feature hasn't been one of the main priorities? It is ranked very high here and of all these Uservoice fora, this seems like a key strategic issue. It's not just about improving the user experience, this is a multiple-times-per-day need that actively prevents people from fully switching to your services. It maybe doesn't seem as big as some of the other apps that have been launched since this was planned but in some ways it's a more important step to accomplish.

It would be really great to get an update on the status of a linux client. I've been paying for quite some time (partially on the premise that eventually a client would be available). Still, about two years since this idea was put up and there's nothing for me to use. It's disappointing that Linux users are treated as an afterthought.
