To elaborate, Calendar events with multiple participants ought to have the ability to hide the participants and send the invitation as a BCC.
There are people who say they want to know the participants, but are narrowly thinking about a work meeting or something similar. It is useful for public invitations, such as parties, or in an educational sense when perhaps students are involved–they don't need to make decisions on whether to attend class based on which other students are invited, and all students may not want to share contact information. There are a ton of other use cases for it that go well beyond a work meeting wherein someone wants to know who on the team will attend the meeting.

It is surprising to see people argue against this, narrowly thinking about a work meeting or conference call. It is useful for public invitations, such as parties where not all attendees know each other. It is also useful in an educational sense when students are involved–they don't need to make decisions on whether to attend class based on which other students are invited, and all students may not want to share contact information.
There are a ton of other use cases for it that go well beyond a work meeting wherein someone wants to know who on the team will attend the meeting.
