The other metadata I would like to see is the ability to add a searchable description or caption to a photo. This would at least give the ability to manually tag who or what is in a photo for ease of finding it later via a text-based search, rather than needing to rely on image recognition for photos.

I would LOVE the ability to edit the metadata on photos and videos so that they display correctly in the time-bound photo view. I have a huge number of videos and photos where their edited date is not close to the date that the photos were taken, like with scans of old photos and the like. I can't load my photo archive into Proton without the ability to correct the date info.

I would also love to see custom colours attached to a searchable label function. For example I can tag or label an event as "appointment" or "work" and then filter or search on that label.
The workaround of using separate calendars is also not ideal, since it removes the ability to easily share a unified calendar with others.

If this existed, as long as it respected the updated date metadata from Google photos, it would make it possible for me to migrate. As it stands, even manually uploading photos, I can't figure out how to make the timeline view respect the Date Taken metadata and put them in the correct order, which makes migration a complete non-starter for me.
