Get rid of that ".protondoc" format or at least let us bulk download our .protondoc files as other formats. The ridiculous native format can only be used on the Proton Drive web app while connected to the internet - and also incapable of backing up onto a computer. Any documents you create in Proton Drive are trapped there. I discovered this last month after months of writing in Proton Drive, so I ended up needing to download everything to my computer - except there was no "bulk download as [different format]" option. So I had to go into over 70 files and individually export each as a different format. It took me hours! I was incredibly angry. Don't create documents in Proton Drive unless you don't care about offline access or being able to back them up.

I have been using Proton Docs as my new word processor until last month, when my internet went out and the files I worked on disappeared. I thought syncing them with my computer would prevent this (like on Google Docs), but because I had created them in Proton, they were some ".protondoc" file format - they didn't even save to my computer! I was honestly angry, because one of the things that pushed me to join Proton was Proton Drive functioning similarly to Google Docs - but I can't even save or edit the native files on my computer. Ridiculous.

It is incredibly confusing to me that ProtonMail cannot do basic email threading/conversation view like every other email provider does. My grandmother's AOL account can do this, but ProtonMail can't? And this suggestion is dated May 11, 2023 while I am replying to it July 28, 2025 - that's over two years and this basic functionality issue has not been addressed.

When a user creates a new address or alias for their default, show an option for that user to create a filter for that alias (or add to an existing filter). Essentially a shortcut to the existing process of creating/adding to filters that makes it easier, especially for less tech-savvy users.

Only if the formats are either Open Source or can be downloaded to our computers for backup AND edited offline. Currently the Docs can't do this, so anything you create in Proton Drive is stuck there.
