I like Proton a lot - the organisation, its mission and products and I really want to support it as a customer. I also understand that Proton is an NFP and the need to nonetheless generate income. However I find its subscription plans costly (when compared to other offerings), inflexible and bordering on coercive at times (i.e., the step up in what you need to pay in order to get the single product you need). I'm happy to pay the money, especially as I know the mission it is enabling. All I'd ask is for a little flexibility - I'd like to be able to buy extra storage (and nothing else) if I need it. I'd like to be able to buy the better VPN or an extra email domain to add to my Proton email set up - just by itself without having to pay for a bunch of other products or features I don't need.
