I would rather prefer an extended version of the Bridge App, which would include connectors for calendars and contacts! That way, users could simply use Thunderbird or any other mail app for all their mailboxes, calendars and contacts. Even multiple windows.

Yes please! I was quite disappointed to learn about the lack of interoperability options and free choice. The bridge for Linux is pretty cool. It allows me to use Thunderbird! But I wish it would also support calendars and contacts ...

I would definitely participate. It's a shame we don't have access to contacts, calendars or Drive files on Linux or can't back them up. I'd love to sync these things with an app of my choice! A super-powered bridge (emulating CardDAV, CalDAV and WebDAV) would be a great start, I could totally live with :)
