Profile picture for ProtonMail users
I know it's currently a bit difficult for an email server to show profile pictures on other email services, but if it's only available to proton users it would be very good, and it would be more business-friendly, without seeming like a strange service

More shortened email options
I was offered shortened @pm.me email option.
I have to refuse it.
First reason is, it does not look trustworthy.
Given that I was offered it only after paying for it by default, means only limited amount of people were ever exposed to it, so it does have limited to none brand recognition. If I were to use it, many people would by default think I am trying to scam them. Same goes for "pm" part as well as ".me" part, it sounds cute, until you try to get into shoes of the receiver that is trying to decide if what he is getting is a scam and .me does not sound legitimate. One of my business friends mentioned to me that she had to make herself @gmail.com acc simply because if she doesn't contact some of her clients with gmail.com, they will assume it is a scam and will not reply to her offers. Now shorten already low recognition brand of @protonmail.com into @pm.me and congratulations, people will even more likely ignore you or flag you as a scam. To have to pay for the opportunity to be ignored is just strange.Second reason is, how you spell that.
So what I do right now when I am communicating my email looks like this:
- ...@protonmail.com (people just know how to write .com and mail)
- what, protonmail.com? How do you spell that?
- I know, not well known, they are about privacy, proton, like in atom, mail, protonmail, together, dot, com.
- protonmail.com?
- Yes, that is correct.
Now how my new conversation would look like:
- ...@pm.me
- Mmm, pi em dot me e or p m dot m e?
- p m dot m e.
- dot m e.
- Yes.
- Ok.
While before it was "you are not well known", it would turn into "how do you spell that?". Ok for me, I just know, not so great for other people. And what you spell means nothing. It could be at least pmail, like gmail or proton.com (I would prefer that), because that would make sense and everyone would just get it, pm is just why google never went @gm.com route, it sounds like a dm (direct message) joke. Even funnier one would be @p.me, now try to say that out loud. So, I would prefer if I get to shorten email, original one is quite long, probably why there is no @googlemail.com, but it should sound more legitimate and end on one of the: .com, .org or country ending (in my case .si, Germany would have .de, Poland .pl and so on), because those endings sound more legit and people already know how to write them, they are well known. It would ease in-person communication and lower the possibility to be flagged as a scam.

Stand alone contacts
I would like to have Proton Contacts as my default on our Android phones. I need to open Google contacts to make a call unless I port all my Proton contacts to Google. I'm don't wish to give Google my entire contacts list.

Appointment Location
Please make the location in the calendar more functional and allow it to open in your chosen map/navigation app, like Magic Earth, which doesn't track you or require an account.

Notes, To-do lists, Task's
Notes, Task, to-do list, is essential in any calendar.
Mandatory in Proton Business.
This is the only way to make Proton Calendar a real alternative to Outlook.
They can and must improve.
Much appreciated.1,318 votes -

more colors for labels
Hi. I don't know if anyone has suggested this yet, but it would be a good idea to have more label colors.

Email Alias management in Mail (not in pass)
The email alias is a great idea, but I hate that I have to switch over to proton pass to manage them, because I don't use proton pass I use bitwarden and am happy with it.
Please integrate it into the email where it makes much more sense, and allows us who don't use proton pass to still use it with ease.
If I send to an email, it should replace my main email with the alias. Otherwise it just leaks my email anyways.
Better integration into mail is needed. I need full control of the aliases in mail like you do in pass. Pass is not for everyone, and email features should be in the mail app.

Add recurrence options: 'First day' and 'Last day' of each month
Add a recurrence option that allows users to schedule events on 'the last day of each month' or 'the first day of each month.' This would enhance flexibility for users who need to plan recurring events tied to specific calendar positions, which are not always covered by fixed-date or weekly recurrence settings.

Could we please have more variety in the colors for folders and calendars? Like yellow(s), real red(s), etc.?
Could we please have more variety in the colors for folders and calendars? Like yellow(s), real red(s), etc.? Everything seems just blah with all blues, browns, greens and one orange and copper. Thank you for your consideration. Have a great day!

Small but important. Display contact birthday on their date. It's the only way I remeber
Another asked for a complicated detailed age of birthday person. Would be nice, but start simple. Get it done. Thanks

PIN & Biometric Protection for ALL Apps
It would be really great to be able to enable a PIN and biometric login protection for ALL proton apps. Specifically, the MacOS Proton Mail app should be able to be guarded with a PIN/Touch ID, the Lumo IOS app should have a PIN/FaceID, etc... All of these apps give direct access not only to sensitive information (emails, chats, etc.), but also to your Proton account settings.

one-click add to calendar instead of .ics file import
Right now, Proton Calendar only supports importing .ics files or subscribing to external calendars. Other providers (e.g. Google Calendar, Outlook) allow a simple “Add to Calendar” deep link that lets users add an event to their calendar with one click.
It would be very useful if Proton Calendar supported a similar feature. For example, when an organisation sends me an event invitation, they could share a Proton-specific link that opens Proton Calendar directly and pre-fills the event details.
This would make it much easier to add events without having to manually download and import .ics files.

Inbox: View by email address
I have 3 email accounts set up, personal, social club and business. All of these are shown in a single list in my inbox. It would be useful to have built in views that allowed me to select mails to just one of these addresses. This would allow me to address my work mails without the clutter and distraction of everything else in my inbox
In addition to this when I am in the work view, the from address for new mails should default to my work address, saving me the need to remember to change it every time I create a new message

Proper support for Format=flowed
Proton is particularly bad at supporting plain text email. There’s no support for format=flowed in the interface but, even worse : any mail sent through Proton SMTP will see its format=flowed header removed.
This was a bug highly discussed in the Bridge Github ticketing system before it was sent offline.
Please allow people to use Proton and the Bridge through plaintext (Mutt, Emacs, Alpine are widely used amongst the privacy geeks crowd)
