Access to Photos from CLI
As a user of Linux (Ubuntu) DigiKam to organize my photos, I need to access my Photos on a local drive for performance reasons. I would to be able to replicate from my Photo folder(s) that Myself and my family backs up to, to be replicated to my local hard drive(s) to solve that performance issue.

Proton Docs / Sheets - Microsoft Format compatibility mode
I’d like to request Microsoft Office format compatibility for Proton Docs and Sheets.
At the moment, I’ve migrated most of my files to Proton Drive, but I still need to keep all my .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx files in Google Drive because Proton does not yet support them natively. Since I work across multiple systems, I rely on these universal file formats for seamless collaboration and interoperability.
It would be extremely valuable to have:
- A compatibility mode similar to Google Docs/Sheets for handling Microsoft formats
- The ability to open and edit .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx files directly in…9 votes -
Add page size options to Proton Docs
Proton Docs should support standard page sizes such as A4, US Letter, Legal, and other common formats.
When importing documents from Google Docs, especially resumes and academic documents, the layout can change significantly because there is no way to define the intended page size.
Being able to select a page size is essential for documents that are meant to be printed, exported to PDF, or kept to a specific number of pages.

Add a 100 GB Proton Drive plan
Proton Drive Plus currently starts at 200 GB, but I think a 100 GB option would be a useful middle ground for users who need more than the free plan but don't need 200 GB.
A lower-priced 100 GB tier would make upgrading more accessible and give users more flexibility in choosing a plan that fits their storage needs.

Open and edit files directly in the mobile app (Android)
Unfortunately, the Proton Drive Android app is pretty useless.
It's essential that you can also edit files with it.
When a file is opened (e.g., DOCX, XLSX, ODT, ODS, etc.), a suitable installed app should open to view and edit the file. When a change is saved, it should then be synchronized with Drive.This is how Google Drive and Nextcloud do it. I'm actually shocked that this doesn't work with ProtonDrive.

Add autocomplete to proton drive CLI
Would be nice if you could autocomplete commands and file paths by pressing tab.
The feature should be available on common shells such as bash, zsh, and fish.

Team drive
We are using proton drive for work. Both for documents, but it also works as a kind of sharepoint/team drive. It would be really helpful to have a better teams function for the drive. At the moment we have a shared folder, but it is still only the "owner" that fully controls it. Furthermore, since I am not the owner, I am not able to access the folder through proton drive cloud on my computer. I can only access my own folders, not those shared with me. First Line Indent in Docs
There's an option to indent an entire paragraph, but there also needs to be an option to indent only the first line and specify the measurement of the indent. Hitting tab is not sufficient, since tab isn't always the correct measurement when you have to meet specific formatting requirements.
Even if tab were consistent, a first line indent option would really speed up the process.

Speed up search indexing in Drive on Linux Mozilla
I have been trying for 1 month to have my search feature in the web interface of drive index my files. This so they will be searchable. There are over 170K files there. The first 100K seem to be done is a jiffy, but after that it is like 1000 files every 10 minutes. My laptop is never connected to the internet for more as 3 or 4 hours and the index seems to crash after several disconnects. So after a month of trying I still have not been able to get a searchable index. Isn't it possible to speed…

Saving search index
I know files and photos indexing may be technically difficult because everything is encrypted, but at least it should be optional to create and persist and index to not wait every time to reconstitutes it, when it's needed to search for files and photos. This index may be incrementally updated at the next access.
It should also be useful to have an index updated in background, maybe by the mobile or desktop apps.14 votes -
Allow photo album ordering based on actual photo EXIF date or by album title
Right now I cant reorder my albums. Now they are in LIFO mode (last in first out) which means that If I have album from year 2024 an then I upload photos from 2007 (takeout from Google Photos) this album from 2007 will be in my list higher then the 2024. Enable order by title names (so I can put into title name year) or by photo EXIFs to do it automatically for me.

Writing @today in Proton Docs automatically includes today's date or a date picker.
I propose a feature where writing @today automatically includes today's date. The date can then be selected and show a calendar to change dates.
This feature helps speed up daily standup date inclusions in a doc to organize our meeting notes.
This feature already exists for example in Google Docs and is a great time saver.

Proton Sheets: Add "Split text to columns" feature
Proton Sheets is missing a core spreadsheet feature found in Excel and Google Sheets: the ability to split text in a cell into multiple columns using a delimiter (comma, space, tab, custom character).

Option to prevent download for files shared in proton drive
I would love an option to prevent someone from downloading a file that I’ve shared with them in Drive. For example, a video id like someone to be able to view, but not download.

A Shared drive for company use
We have started to use Proton in our company next to Google. As long as it is still not fully functional in the same way we will keep things next to eachother. At least supporting the product development of Proton by having a paid subscription!
A small step in the right direction would be to have proper Shared Drives that are 'company owned' instead of user owned. And where you can jointly keep data stored.

Format currency cells according to the currency symbol entered
If I enter "£3.00" in a cell, Proton Sheets will turn it into $3. It changes the currency but also removes the decimal places I entered. This feels kind of broken. I don't see how or why this would be expected or acceptable behaviour.

Allow syncing to same folder location for multiple windows/macOs/linux user accounts
I am working with two different user accounts on my windows machine. One for work, one for personal stuff. I want to use the Proton Drive for both accounts. Unfortunately when I tried to set up Proton Drive on the second account to sync with the same folder I got an error message instead:
"Invalid sync folder: The folder must be empty before setting up sync"It wouldn't make any sense to choose a different folder and have everything twice on my computer
