Ability to set a network data speed cap
Would be extremely useful to have a network cap when downloading / uploading in Proton Drive. I run the risk of not being able to do any tasks that requires network in the background while Drive is working as it hogs all the data for itself.

Sync file deletion between local and cloud storage
In the proton drive app, you choose folders to sync to the cloud. But when you delete a file from Proton Drive, its local copy is not deleted from your computer. However, when delete a local file, its cloud copy is automatically deleted.
This can cause problems, for example if you rename or otherwise edit a local file that is in a synced folder but whose cloud copy you have deleted, it's going to create a new cloud copy of it.

"Sharing" Dialog for the invited audience
As an invited person I do not see with whom this item is shared, neither on documents nor for folders.
From a privacy perspective it could be dangerous to add any sensitive information without knowing who is able to see this.
Of course, the owner could change it at any time, but at least for the moment for adding information, I would be able to decide.3 votes -
Set "Default View" and "Default Sorting" for a shared folder
It is not possible to pre-set a view or sorting for a share. This could be helpful to give the audience a better entry point, if the amount of folder and files is too big and the owner organized it in a specific way.

Standalone Proton Drive Finder Window
On macos Proton drive doesn't currently allow Finder folder shortcuts due to the way it manages sessions. If Proton Drive had it's own Finder or File Explorer window, we could have shortcuts to proton drive folders - everyone wants that.
A full standalone Proton drive file browser window that works just like the standard OS browser window. This way we can have proton drive folder shortcuts. It would work with the current session management and it might bring parity across devices too.

Give an option to avoid Proton SSO
Using one username+password to access all Proton services opens that entire Proton account to one keylogged login attempt breaching everything.
If I want to log into ProtonVPN somewhere, that does not mean I trust that computer with access to my email, calendar, drive, and so on.
Logging into ProtonVPN, even if keylogged, should only ever allow the attacker to log into ProtonVPN.
This is an all eggs in one basket situation.
Let people use personal access tokens instead of Proton SSO, created for and bound to one particular service.

Add Conditional Sync Pause Feature for Proton Drive
I use Proton Drive to back up certain files for a game. However, it causes significant performance issues when the game is running due to constant synchronization. Currently, I have to manually pause the syncing, which requires me to remember to manually sync the files later.
A feature that pauses syncing based on specific conditions would be very helpful. These conditions could include:
- When a window is in full-screen mode
- When certain processes are running (like games)
This feature would benefit not only gamers but also anyone who needs a stable internet connection during critical tasks.

I have transferred across to Proton because of the privacy features. I'm struggling with the lack of preview for Powerpoint files. I use them all the time for work. My last drive provider had the ability to edit these files online. Please add this feature as a matter of urgency

Be able to sweep between images in Proton Drive mobile App
This is about Proton Drive mobile App (iOs in my case).
Currently if there are several images in the folder, I have to open an image, then close it, then open another, etc.
I would like to be able to sweep directly between the images in the folder. It would be a more fluent experience :)

Allow renaming files within MS Word
Something changed in the background and I'm no longer able to rename a file from inside MS Word for files that are stored locally (or online) on my Proton Drive. There is something wrong with permission structures between Microsoft and Proton Drive.

Proton Drive’s session management - Persistent login session
Hi Proton Team and Community,
I would like to raise a security-related suggestion regarding Proton Drive’s session management.
Currently, Proton Drive maintains a persistent login session, which is convenient from a usability standpoint. However, in certain scenarios, especially when dealing with sensitive or confidential documents, this behavior can pose a security risk.
Unlike tools such as Cryptomator, which require authentication (e.g., PIN or password) every time the application is accessed, Proton Drive does not currently offer an option for an additional local authentication layer or automatic lock on device access.
You guys already do this with proton pass.

Ensure I can select and upload multiple files and folders at once, without having to upload files one by one (mobile)
Currently the mobile app on IpadOS and Android doesn’t support the upload and of an entire folder of files or photos. It also doesn’t support an easy way to multi-select files via a swipe, like the Os prescribes.
Use case: When I export photos from Lightroom I want to upload them in bulk. Currently, on the web, I can use the OS-Level multi-select behavior to launch an upload of an entire folder. On the apps this is not possible, especially on IpadOS this functionality is very rudimentary. Without this feature, the apps are useless for me.

I'd like to share a photoalbum.
I'm a hobby-photographer and i mainly bought proton drive to share pictures.
The problem is, when uploading pictures as files, i can share them, but i can not view a prewiev on my phone, without having to download them. On the other side, when i upload them as pictures, i can not share them easily with friends. I want to share a link, from which they can view and download the pictures, without having to create an account on proton.This is just stupid and should not be that hard.

Tables on iOS are excessively narrow
Tables that look fine on other devices are shrunk to an excessively small width on iOS devices in the Proton Drive app as well as in the Browser (tested with Safari and Firefox). In a two-column table, the width is so small that line breaks are added even for short words.

I need a way to stop keep getting a Sync Issue Alert for a Lock FIle that is being used by Another App.
Since others have asked for an "Ignore Files" feature and they still haven't gotten it, I need some way to get Proton Drive to stop nagging me with ALERTS about files that WILL NOT SYNC because they are locked (or for any other reason.)
How about a way to DISMISS an ALERT? How about PERMANENTLY for a given file?
Otherwise other, more vital alerts and/or other notifications might get lost amongst all the noise.

Double-click to open a shared Proton Doc
Opening a shared Proton Doc – In the web UI (https://drive.proton.me), locate the shared document, double‑click the title or the blue Doc icon (or select the file and press Enter/right‑click → “Open in Docs”). This opens the file directly in the Proton Docs viewer. The three‑dot menu only offers download, details, copy, or remove; it does not contain the “open” command. Private Secure Podcast Hosting by Proton using FOSS Castopod
I realize that someone could self-host their podcast (using free hosting software from Castopod) and distribute their podcast that way, but most Netizens are not going to go that route. I propose a podcast hosting solution that is based in a more privacy-friendly country like Switzerland.
If Proton hosted Castopod software on their servers, that would create a private, podcast hosting option that could also be spun-up quite easily.
