Saving search index
I know files and photos indexing may be technically difficult because everything is encrypted, but at least it should be optional to create and persist and index to not wait every time to reconstitutes it, when it's needed to search for files and photos. This index may be incrementally updated at the next access.
It should also be useful to have an index updated in background, maybe by the mobile or desktop apps.8 votes -
Sheets: Better support for manually inputting durations
I really like that Proton Sheets properly supports time-only data and durations. However, manually inputting a duration is a bit of a hassle, as the underlying data seems to be in fractions of a day: If I want my duration cell to display e.g. "8:00:00", I have to input 0.33333 or =8/24. It would be nice if Sheets recognized some common time durations, so that e.g. 8h, 8h30, 8.5h or 8:30 is converted to the proper duration value.

Sheet: Choose encoding when import
We cannot choose file encoding when importing CSV file.
Because of I'm Japanese user, I often use Shift JIS encoding for CSV file.
There are many services that issues CSV as Shift JIS encoding in Japan.

Proton Sheets - edit chart axis range
In Proton sheets, when I make a chart out of my data, the Y-axis always starts from 0. However, if all my values are in the thousands, this is unnecessary and hides the differences between my values, as they all look similar in this zoomed-out view. So, I would like to edit the range of the chart axes by setting min and max values to my liking.

Docs page color
I know similar things have been suggested before, but if a dark mode is ever added I'd much rather it affect the UI and not the page itself; I'd like to be able to choose the page color and font color myself.
This is, assuming of course, a non-pageless format is added.

When I make a table, the only available colour for banded rows is grey. Please add at least a handful of colour options or make it fully customizable!

Better way for bulk uploading/downloading
It is currently very challenging to upload large amounts of data into Proton Drive. I have some data that I want to back up into the cloud, which currently sits on an external drive. The Proton Drive desktop app will not accept the folders on the external drive for backup (presumably because it is not an internal drive), and uploading via the web interface is extremely unreliable unless you manually do it in small chunks, which is tedious.
Would it be possible to add a function to the desktop app to copy large amounts of data into Proton Drive or…

True cloud sync akin to Dropbox or OneDrive
Instead of just allowing machine-specific sync to the cloud, allow for a cloud-storage option which multiple machines can all sync to & from bidirectionally, allowing all computers to have the same set of files. Add one in one machine, it should become available in all machines. Delete one in one machine, it should get deleted everywhere.
Something similar to Dropbox or OneDrive. Makes managing files much more seamless and easier instead of having to try and find which machine I first synced the file on.
This will give a true alternative for users to move out of OneDrive/Dropbox and adopt…

Multi account on Proton Drive PC application and access history in docs by email
Multi accounts on Proton Drive PC application (like Proton Mail) would be very helpful for users who have more than 1 account to manage, we need to make loggout and login again on Drive creating every time a new folder in PC w/ different names to access the documments on the cloud. it makes everything confuse and impractical.
Additionally, I suggest to implement an access history for docs by email/PC-ID and an easy buttom to download the registers (for controllers/creators) - very useful for business access control and compliance.

I really appreciate the ability to change the properties of different heading styles in Docs, the way google docs does it is just fine, the "update to fit selection."

Please add the ability to sort files by 'File Type' in Proton Drive.
We can currently sort by:

Preserve albums from device
I backup my photos from my phone onto Proton Drive. However, the albums that the photos are in on my phone are not preserved on Proton Drive. Instead, they are just dumped into one place. This, unfortunately, makes the photos pretty much unusable, because they are a nightmare to look through all mixed up.
I already have placed my photos into sensible albums on my phone. I should not have to redo that on Proton Drive. Without this feature, I have to use another service for photo backups.

As it is, you only can sync photos. On the desktop you can add additional folders.

QOL for Proton Docs: Headers and text default formatting
I think it would be neat if we can set our preferred default fonts and text sizes for every NEW headers and subsequent texts.
It's a hassle having to switch them over from Arial to the other fonts I'm more comfortable with.

Proton Docs: download to docx and PDF does not work properly, format is messed up
The formatting in Proton Docs looks beautiful, however as soon as I export it to docx, the formatting is messed up.
Also, with the download to PDF the format is changed (puts content on 2 pages even though there would be enough space on one). I would expect the format to stay exactly as I see it in the Proton Docs when I export it.
Therefore, it's not usable for printing a doc / exporting a doc. Currently, it's not an option to completely change to Proton Docs.8 votes -

On Drive desktop app - please allow for adding a personal and business account to both sync; this functionality exists for OneDrive and Google Drive.

On-Demand file syncing for windows & synchronisation of PCs
Trying to change from Onedrive, but it's on-demand file download is too powerful. Apps & Games being able to call for and wait for a Onedrive download automatically should be a feature of Proton Drive.
Also ability to have all Windows PCs synced under one location in Proton drive. so they all have the same files available. Proton Drive having PCs have there own individual folders was a big let down when I was changing over.
