I definitely support this feature request!!!
Back when g**gle calendar first started as a beta web-'app', within just a few months I think the support and community and feature request forums over at g**gle groups and the related groups instances for support and requests were inundated with tons of requests.
I tried to monitor the first feature requests asking for this (maybe late 2006 or early 2007?) over at the g**gle support forums / feature request / product feedback forums.
The first one for this very feature, though it was requesting a version of click and drag that would allow either ctrl + click + drag or maybe an optional and configurable mod key + click + drag copy option. Basically, everyone using outlook wanted desperately to get away from outlook.
However (and this story I am sharing I share to illustrate how not to be like g**gle), These feedback or feature request "tickets" or "cases" or whatever they were called were closed by the apparent volunteer moderators before they could get much over 100 upvotes. I stopped counting after around 5 years and nearly 5000 such "request" tickets for the feature. That was about when I started to leave the g**g.
funny thing is, the g**gle devs eventually made their fancy ajax UI that could very easily do this very thing, but it was never (to my knowledge as of 2020 when I completely stopped using g**gle apps) was never added.
Anyways, sorry for the long comment, but I love the click & drag, and even more love the ctrl & click & drag style copying! I like to setup busy schedules with several identical time slots manually in my calendar as opposed to using one of those "schedule my appointment" 3rd party apps, but without something like (mod +) click + drag to copy, it would take forever to do something like that.
Love y'all Proton and friends!
Cheers!
