Since December, a new phenomenon in the art world has added to the environmental concerns about cryptocurrencies: NFTs. Ethereum, the second most popular cryptocurrency after Bitcoin, creates the NFTs. The average NFT generates 440 pounds of carbon—the equivalent of driving 500 miles in a gas-powered car—producing emissions 10 times higher than the average Ethereum transaction.

Seems like a good way to paint a target on your back. id just rather not open the thought to the eyes of the internet of "hey hackers, this company now stores and/or moves cryptocurrency. map their attack surface and you might find buried treasure!"
I need proton to manage privacy and organize my life. I'd rather leave banking to someone else where that's 100% the only thing they do. I wouldn't really want google doing my banking or crypto either. -

I would like to inform you that there are dozens privacy based crytos out now that use 99% less energy than bitcoin.
