a full implementation of SMIME could also be a differentiating factor for regulated business (healthcare, finance, aeronautics) sectors to choose Proton Business tiers, so they can also manage and send signed or even encrypted emails to their customers.

in Switzerland more and more government owned entities send SMIME signed emails, especially those entities impacted by phishing, i.e. post.ch
seeing a visual validation of the correct signature for these emails would help users (especially elderly, who are not trained against phishing) to validate the statements in these bulletins.
