Adding my voice here: I am happy that Proton are supporting these causes, and happy that they are being transparent about the causes they support. People who do not agree with those causes can opt out if they see fit.
Driving for a private and secure internet is a political cause in and of itself, so the idea that they should stay out of politics does not make sense to me. Doing and saying nothing indicates acceptance of the current status quo, and I am happy to support a company that puts its money towards its values.
