Just to add a bit more context — one of the reasons the Proton Mail account feels underutilized is that, even as a free email service, it lacks some very basic features such as automatic trash deletion and the ability to organize emails into folders. Without these, it's difficult to see practical value in using Proton Mail as a webmail solution, especially for users who mainly signed up for Proton Pass and SimpleLogin.
It seems clear that the goal is to encourage users toward Proton Mail, but if the essential features are missing, even a free service goes unused. Naturally, it also doesn’t make a strong case for upgrading to a paid plan.
