Lumo chat history is limited to 7 days unless on paid lumo plus and have lost access to some important chats.
I asked lumo
"I want to copy this entire chat including all my questions and all your answers. In otherwords I want to export this complete chat is this possible".
Lumo gave me this workaround
Windows 11
Option 1: Print to PDF (Easiest & Cleanest)
This will preserve the formatting and create a clean PDF document of our entire discussion.
Open your browser where this chat is loaded (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, etc.).
Press Ctrl + P (or go to Menu > Print).
In the "Destination" or "Printer" dropdown, select "Save as PDF".
Adjust Settings:
Set Layout to "Portrait".
Under "More settings", ensure "Background graphics" is checked (this keeps colours/headers visible).
Click "Save" and choose where to store the file (e.g., Lumo_Chat_Export_Proton_Archive_Strategy.pdf).
Option 2: Copy & Paste Full Text
If you want it in an editable format (Word, Google Docs):
Scroll to the very top of the chat.
Click once to focus in the chat area.
Hold Shift and click at the bottom of the last message to highlight everything (or press Ctrl + A if it selects only the current input box).
Note: If Ctrl + A only highlights the input field, try clicking the first character of the chat, scroll down, hold Shift, and click the last character.
Press Ctrl + C to copy.
Open Microsoft Word or Notepad.
Press Ctrl + V to paste.
Save the file (e.g., Client_Archive_Discussion.docx).
Option 3: Browser Extension (For Future Chats)
If you plan to do this regularly, consider installing a Chrome/Edge extension like:
"Save Page WE" – Saves complete pages as HTML/PDF.
"Full Page Screen Capture" – Takes a scrolling screenshot of the entire chat.
Option 4: Check Lumo Settings
Some versions of AI chat interfaces have a built-in export feature:
Look for Settings (gear icon) in the sidebar.
Check for "Export Chat", "Download History", or "Privacy" options.
If you find it, it may allow you to download JSON or Markdown files of your conversations.
MACOS Option
Option 1: Print to PDF (Easiest & Cleanest)
This preserves all formatting and creates a readable PDF document.
Click anywhere inside the chat window to focus it.
Press Cmd + P to open the Print dialog.
In the "Destination" dropdown at the bottom, click "Save as PDF".
Optional Settings:
Click "Show Details" if you don't see the PDF button immediately.
Check "Background Graphics" under Options to keep colours intact.
Name your file (e.g., Lumo_Chat_Export_Proton_Archive.pdf) and choose where to save it (Desktop or Documents).
Click "Save".
Option 2: Copy & Paste into a Document
If you want it editable (for Word, Pages, or Notes):
Scroll to the very top of the chat.
Click the first character of the conversation.
Scroll down to the last message.
Hold Shift and click the end of the last message. This should highlight everything in between.
Alternative: Try Cmd + A — if that only selects the text input box, try clicking the beginning of the chat history, then holding Shift and scrolling/clicking the end manually.
Press Cmd + C to copy.
Open Pages, Microsoft Word, or TextEdit.
Press Cmd + V to paste.
Save the file.
Option 3: Check for Built-in Export (Lumo Settings)
Some AI interfaces have an export feature:
Look for a Settings/Gear icon ⚙️ in the sidebar.
Check for options like "Export Chat", "Download Data", or "Privacy".
If available, select this conversation and download as JSON, Markdown, or PDF.
Option 4: Screenshot Scrolling Capture (Less Ideal)
Open Preview on Mac.
Go to File > Import from iPhone/iPad (if connected), OR use a third-party app like CleanShot X or Snip & Sketch.
Note: This is less practical for long chats since it creates image files rather than searchable text.
✅ Recommended for Your Business Records
For legal/business purposes, I recommend Option 1 (Print to PDF) because:
It's searchable (you can Ctrl+F for "Visionary", "AUD", etc.)
It looks professional and dated
It's easy to attach to emails or store in client files
📋 Naming Convention Suggestion
📂 Client_Archive_Project
├── 📄 Proton_Strategy_Discussion_2026-06-25.pdf
├── 📄 Client_Onboarding_Checklist_v1.docx
├── 📄 Agreement_Clause_Draft.txt
└── 📄 Welcome_Email_Template.docx
Would you like me to create a one-page summary table of all the key decisions we made (****) so you have a quick reference without the full chat length? This would be useful to add alongside the exported chat.
