Folders will be a significant building block for Proton Pass that will go beyond just helping you organize your items. Introducing folders will require some rethinking of our cryptography model, which we’re currently working on. Eventually, you’ll also be able to share folders and subfolders just like your vaults and individual items, giving you another flexible way to share access.
Folders will be available in the coming months. As well as creating vaults, you’ll be able to create dedicated folders and subfolders to organize crucial information for quick retrieval: you can organize by project, by team, by year, or whatever else you need.

It would be great if the mobile, web, and desktop apps all followed the same UI guidelines and shared consistent workflows. This would make them feel like a cohesive suite, rather than separate apps from different developers that just happen to share the same logo.

The combination of SimpleLogin with ProtonMail is already a strong step toward empowering users with greater privacy and control. That said, the current integration still feels somewhat partial, which can occasionally result in small glitches. Meanwhile, SimpleLogin as a standalone service hasn’t seen many updates recently, making this the perfect moment to take integration to the next level.
By fully embedding SimpleLogin’s functionality into ProtonMail across both web and app, alias management could become truly seamless, reliable, and effortless. This deeper integration would not only reduce friction for users who depend on aliases every day, but also reinforce Proton’s reputation as a leader in privacy innovation. It’s an opportunity to delight users, strengthen trust, and showcase Proton’s commitment to building tools that make privacy simple and accessible.
