Unfortunately, Proton still does not support .ods or .odt. What is the reason for not supporting open file formats? If Proton want to be an alternative to offerings form Microsoft and Google this does not make sense.

.odt should be the default document format. I am not sure what the idea behind the .protondoc format was. Exporting to docx is a useful feature. The perfect solution would be the one that Microsoft Onedrive has (the user can chose default file format (DOCX or ODT) when creating new docucuments).

Proton Docs should definitely use open document as default. Being able to export to other formats is a good feature but the default format is the most important thing. Using its own file format the same way Google does makes me chose Microsoft Onedrive instead. They let you chose default file format (Microsoft's or Open Document) when creating documents.

As mentioned in the previous update on this feature, it is now being edited to be a request for slides.
Please feel free to undo your vote if this is not something you want included in Proton Drive.

Using a proprietary format in Proton docs was a mistake from the very beginning. ODT should be native format with an option to export to DOCX or PDF. For me as an individual, the current set-up is not an option. Nor do I think corporate users find this attractive. For those looking for alternatives to US tech giants, there is an upcoming cloud based office.eu. It looks very promising.
