Telegram – Better for large groups, channels, bots, and cloud sync (but not end-to-end encrypted by default). WhatsApp – Wider adoption and smoother mainstream experience, though owned by Meta. Session – Privacy-focused like Signal, but doesn’t require a phone number. Threema – Strong privacy and no phone number required, but paid.

Adding support for a standalone 1Password license (not just subscription accounts) would make the import feature more complete and user-friendly. Many long-time users still rely on local vaults, so allowing direct import from a standalone 1Password license would improve compatibility and reduce migration friction. In the same way that tools simplify specific lookups — for example, platforms focused on Simit por placa make it easy to check traffic fines by license plate in Colombia — password managers should aim for clear, direct functionality without unnecessary limitations. A more flexible import system would provide better coverage than competitors that only support limited account types, ensuring users can migrate their data smoothly regardless of how their 1Password license was originally set up. Rebranding or integrating Standard Notes as Proton Notes would improve visibility and trust. People already recognize the Proton name, so they are more likely to try it. A better UI plus a strong brand could attract more users and increase paid subscriptions.

That’s a fair point! It would make sense to bundle Standard Notes’ premium features with Proton Unlimited, just like SimpleLogin. It’d offer more value and a smoother experience for users within the Proton ecosystem.
Using a random scanning app can create a privacy risk because many apps ask for unnecessary permissions and may upload your documents to their servers. If you care about privacy, use a trusted app with a clear privacy policy or scan directly inside secure apps like Proton Drive (if supported). The goal is to keep your data encrypted end-to-end and avoid sharing it with third parties before storing it safely.
