1. Andy Yen steps aside

   The user base most likely to go all-in with Proton are the least likely to approve of Yen's AI delirium. (I'm referencing the latest 404 Media article.)

   We don't want a product that is AI coded. And we don't want the people hard at work, making Proton a viable alternative to big tech, being treated like garbage - like they work for Big Tech.

   The reason I joined Proton is to minimize this delulu AI culture. I can move elsewhere if you don't want me, Yen.

   404 Media saw these internal messages, in which he also said it was "loser thinking" to an employee who urged the company to at least take a few days to test newly written code before going live.

3. Remember what customers use Proton for.

   I want a privacy-focused program that values well-made encrypted services. Email and drive. Maybe even a level-headed and normal person running the show. That’s it! Stay focused!!

4. Temper your expectations with AI. Remove your CEO and top management if you have to.

   The latest news is horrible for Proton. Make no mistake on that.
   Most of us aren't demanding 0 AI at all. I understand that AI can hack faster than humans can protect us on their own.
   But please let your engineers review the code at the very least. I don't need them to physically type every keystroke. Let them assess the AI code all they want. Do the pentests, do the audits.
   What are you going to do when AI can't maintain the code any more? What will you do if Claude is forced to create backdoors by Anthropic and their stakeholders?
   If you're racing from A to B, you try running. If the opponents are in a vehicle, then yes I'll give you that you have to drive. But get your license first and don't put on a blindfold. Worried that braking for a turn will put you behind? Maybe, but the alternative is driving straight into a wall. That's where you're headed with this new policy.

   The latest news is horrible for Proton. Make no mistake on that.

5. CEO and CTO needs to terminated, immediately.

   This is a simple request:
   Your CTO and CEO need to have their employment terminated effective immediately.

   Any employee who has suffered psychological distress by th absurd and unacceptable behaviour from Boris and Yen needs to be compensated.

   Proton should embrace a ZERO AI & LLM culture.
   Be the front runners of a company that caters towards perfecting their core products.

6. Andy Yen needs to go

   Andy Yen (and probably the CTO, too) needs to go. Nothing less will change my opinions and actions at this point.

   I am now going to actively recommend against Proton services for others. Also, I'm personally going to actively search for alternative solutions and services. I have one of the top subscription levels.

   The privacy- and security-conscious communities don't want another big tech platform. You're not competing against them. You're supposed to be providing an alternative, not the same.

   Additionally, some of the biggest reasons that Claude and other GenAI tools are finding so many bugs and vulnerabilities are due to decades of rushed, minimal viable products and technical debt. Adopting a policy of rapid, GenAI slop is just doubling (or exponentially?) down on these massive flaws. I'd rather have a methodical and well-thought-out product than a bunch of buggy products.

   If Proton is struggling to meet its goals then maybe it is setting too many unrealistic goals? The community has noticed that Proton has been trying to build too many new products. Proton leadership should realize that multitasking doesn't work well at the individual or corporate level. Keep your eye on a few core goals and don't let feature creep infect your platform.

   For the record, I am okay with using GenAI to hunt for bugs and vulnerabilities in software. I don't like GenAI technology but I can't deny it is helping reveal decades of technical debt and software vulnerabilities. That doesn't mean GenAI should be used to move faster and recklessly, or that everyone must use it.

   Andy Yen (and probably the CTO, too) needs to go. Nothing less will change my opinions and actions at this point.

   Please please please stop the re-interviewing of staff about AI usage. Put down the kool aid, and step back from the AI mind virus cult please!

   Respect your employees more! Are they doing good work - yes or no. It should not matter at ALL if they use AI or not, only if they are doing good work period.

   I, along with many others migrated to Proton from Google or other platforms not just for privacy but also to support an ethical company. This recent push to use AI adoption as a basis to terminate staff along with other actions which align the company with far-right political entities flies in the face of this.

   If Proton goes through with these AI Re-Interviews, and ends up terminating staff as a result of it I will cancel my subscription and move my data elsewhere.

10. Fire Andy Yen and treat your employees with respect

    My yearly subscription was renewed last month And I wish I could get a prorated refund based on loss of confidence in the service/service provider because of your CEOs behaviour, employee treatment, and utter insanity regarding security measures and AI as reported in 404. I'll never give you another cent if Andy and any others like him are not fired and the company put right to what it sold itself as.

    Shame on you. This isn't what the company presented itself as and what I signed up for, which is a privacy and SECURITY focused platform. And employees should NEVER be treated like that.

    If you think people won't abandon and migrate to another platform as fast as they did from Google to you you're delusional.

    A new product within ProtonMail and ProtonCalendar, similar to Microsoft To-Do and Google Keep

    • Task list in the ProtonMail side panel:
      It would be useful to include, alongside the existing icons (Contacts, Proton Calendar, Referral, VPN, and Security Center), a dedicated “Tasks” icon. This Tasks section could be created either in Proton Calendar or Proton Mail. It would not be mandatory to assign a date to a task; however, if a date is defined, it could be automatically displayed in Proton Calendar.
      Additionally, it would be interesting to allow linking related emails to a task (both received and sent), making it easier to maintain context and track activities.

    • “Tasks” tab in Proton Calendar:
      In addition to the existing views (Agenda, Day, 3 Days, Week, and Month), I suggest adding a “Tasks” tab. This tab would list all created tasks, regardless of whether they are scheduled or not, making it easier and more centralized to track pending items.

    A native note-taking app from Proton would add an important everyday tool to the portfolio while extending Proton's high privacy standards to note management. The app should offer the following core features:

    Extensive functionality – text notes, checklists, image and file attachments, formatting (bold, italics, bullet points) – in other words, the same level of performance as Google Notes.

    Intuitive user interface – quick creation, editing, and organization of notes via swipe gestures, drag-and-drop, and context-sensitive menus.
    Integration of “share” services – Users should be able to transfer content from other apps (e.g., Spotify, YouTube, podcasts) directly into a note using the “share” function.
    Example: While listening to an audiobook, the current song/track can be saved in Proton Notes using Spotify's share option. The note automatically displays the album cover as a thumbnail so that you can quickly find the right place later.

    I have pushed and promoted Proton to my family and friends because I trusted that there were people building this system. People who had my privacy and security as the core of their development goals. The article has shattered my faith in the company and basically make all your statements about putting our security first a lie. 16. Proton Spaces - an alternative to Teams/Slack/Discord/Telegram etc.

    Currently, many companies and authorities in Europe are searching for realistic alternatives to Big Tech, and one area lacking a truly viable option is the space occupied by Microsoft Teams and Slack. We are also seeing increased skepticism toward Discord following the introduction of age verification. Furthermore, all these services are unencrypted and closed-source.

    I believe there could be an opening here for Proton to step in and offer a privacy-friendly alternative and building a service similar to Teams/Slack/Discord that caters to both businesses and individuals. This would make Proton’s business suite more attractive and provide a natural integration with Proton Meet when it arrives. There is also a demand within Facebook groups to find privacy-focused alternatives to Facebook itself, yet no such platform truly exists.

    Give the dark theme proton sheets and if possible for docs also, it really looks good and more attractive, kindly developers consider and do this needful, and please do it ASAP, it will be good for dark mode users like me.
