But save the photos in the drive, link it to the photo app and only use the photo app to show/edit/delete the photo file. It makes no sense to me having to places for saving photo files.

Saves users a lot of time and Proton storage space.

Just link the photo files from the drive and don't store any files in the photo app. All files should be stored in one single location (the drive).
